Description

Desperation drove Dainin into the arms of the Goddess of Luck and Chaos. He strives to outgrow his title ofLucky to Be Blessed,and earns unexpected notoriety when he defies her orders. Is it an act of spite to pit him against a dragon? Dainin clings to his faith and tries to move forward and grow his skills, charting his own course as he goes.

Path didn't want to be like other dragons, but getting that inner wish acknowledged by a Goddess of Chaos carries a price so heavy she is not sure how to bear it. Can she find her way back to her true self?

    I like the differnt aproach to the LitRpg standard. The main character is very relateble and I am invested in just how sassy can his deity get with his rewards and quests! I hope not all gods are this fickle! I look forward to the adventures and craziness these charachters are going to get up to and just how the system evoles over time.

    Not so much a comment on the story plot because put dragons and litrpg together and I'll gobble it up any day, but I do find the system the author has come up with is worth mentioning.
    I've read a lot of LITRPG books and a lot of them are plauged with heavy ability/skill information dumps and semi meaningless stacks of numbers. This story does a good job of keeping the system light and easy to understand.
    I don't really want to spoil anything, but it fits quite naturally into the world they're building. I like it a lot and I'm looking forward to seeing how the author handles it as the story and breath of abilities grows!

    Want to read a fantasy story with dragons, elves, and fickle goddesses? Then Path's Reflection is here for you!  That One Dragon Writer has created an interesting setting, sprinkled with twists on common tropes. I have really enjoyed this story so far, and I'm curious to see what comes next. This was written during the January 2023 RR writing contest with the prompt "Uncharted waters".
    Style: It was easy to distinguish between Path's POV and Dainin's, and the story progresses naturally in a chronological order.
    Story: The first few chapters are a little slow, though I understand the need for an introduction to the characters and setting. However, the main characters' motivations are slightly unclear to me, at least at first.
    Grammer and Vocabulary: There are many clunky/long sentences which seem to be part of the author's writing style. These could be tidied a little to ensure a smoother reading experience.
    Characters: Path and Dainin are fairly strong characters, though I was surprised by Dainin's actions in Chapter 6. I'm curious to see more of their interactions in the future.
    That One Dragon Writer, thank you for writing this! I can tell you have spent a lot of time working on it - keep up the good work!
