The highlight of this work has to be the author's attention to detail in every scene, both in description of the smaller things and the intense emotion of the protagonist, Casey. Even in the short time frame we spend with her, you really get a sense of the character's thoughts and feelings of what transpired in her life. She's a fascinating character that I would have loved to be explored more (seriously, the pain and twisted sadness of her mental needs to be studied. There are so many people out there who will understand her). She is both relatable and resilient while still able to pull at your heartstrings (not to discredit another character, Silvia, who will also force you to bring out the tissues by the end). There is no doubt in my mind that the author took their time to develop these characters before putting their finger on the keyboard, as they feel like real people going through real loss (identically and figuratively). It's refreshing to experience a thought-provoking story that can grab you from the start and let go quickly, only for you to realize that the swift ride gave you all the thrills you'll need for the day.

I’m genuinely captivated by this story. This piece is a moving and honest exploration of trauma through the eyes of an artist. The contrast between her creativity and the dark thoughts she grapples with makes for a powerful narrative. The painting on the easel serves as a symbol of her internal conflict representing not only what she loves but also what she fears.
Style: The author has a wonderful way with words. The writing is emotional and evocative allowing me to both see and feel what Casey is going through. The story is compelling making it easy to visualize her surroundings and her state of mind. The descriptions are rich yet they don’t overwhelm the narrative creating a nice balance.
Story: The pacing is just right. There’s a mix of present day moments and flashbacks that help me understand Casey’s struggles without feeling rushed. The tension builds nicely as her story unfolds keeping me engaged.
Character: I'm a fan of Casey but I feel like I want to know more about her past relationships. While I can sense her pain and loss getting more backstory would deepen my connection to her and make her struggles feel even more impactful. Also could have added a little more things about Silvia.
