Description

Page Turnersis set in a world where reality is bound by the rules of the Book, a universe created by God. Every Page of the Book is its own distinct world, ruled by its godlike Author, and each is filled with danger, mystery, and the powerful force known as the Seam. Charlize, a hardened Bookwyrm, is tasked with guiding Od, a strange man carrying an enigmatic bag, on a perilous journey across these Pages.

But before Charlize can meet Od, she stumbles upon a mysterious girl who claims to be from a Page that has been locked away from the rest of the Book. The mystery of these locked Pages is central to Charlize's personal mission to escape her past and find the rumored heaven, and she is forced to take the girl along. Little does she know, Od will soon present her with an equally rare opportunity to achieve her goal—at the cost of a head-on collision with God.

Caught between these two enigmatic forces, Charlize faces the most epic and brutal journey of her life, one that will push her Seam-weaving skills to their limits and force her to tap into the power of her Creation.

Filled with world-building, action, tense encounters, and questions about free will, identity, and what it means to be God,Page Turnersoffers a reality-bending adventure where nothing is ever as it seems. Hi everyone, NewTyp0 here! This is the first piece of work I have ever published, it’s pretty nerve-racking actually. My only hope is for you to get lost in this world, its power system, characters, and mysteries. I welcome all criticism and suggestions, I just want to improve and make it the best story I can. Characters
I'll start with my favourite thing about this story: its characters!
We follow three people, who all have their unique sets of goals.
The focal character is Charlize, a seasoned adventurer who picks up a job from a mysterious man named Od. She also picks up a young girl without much of a past or even a name.
Charlize is quickly made the leader of this merry band, which is a role she struggles with throughout. It's interesting to see her grow, and allow herself to rely on others, and utilise their strengths instead of trying to deal with everything herself.
Girl is a fun character because there is so much more to her than meets the eye, but she doesn't see herself as special in the same way her companions do, so she never shares or thinks about those things. Coming up with theories about her identity has been a fun little side-quest I assigned myself while reading this. Every time she did something out of the ordinary, I added it to my list of evidence of her being a higher being than the other two XD
The last MC is Od, who, much like his name suggests, is odd. He has set himself to accomplish the impossible and has hired Charlize to help him with that. There is also more to him than meets the eye, as we don't know his full origins and motives. And much like the main protagonist, I have found myself distrusting him on more than one occasion. His main "flaw" is that he is kind, which is not something people in that world or in his position generally are. And I really enjoyed the author subverting my expectations of him over and over, proving over and over that I was overthinking a lot of Od's actions.
If I were to pick a favourite, it'd be the girl. Her shoes are the ones I'd like to find myself in the most; just innocently exploring this fantastical world alongside a powerful big sister and a fun uncle.
