Reading the hundreds of pages was soo easy and a testament to the Author and their ability to honor and enhance the source material.

"The One Who Stayed" is a fantastic read, though not without its faults in grammar. That being said, I loved every Arc in this digital book, with a greater appreciation for the final Volume. I didn't realize that the author went on a hiatus, so unfortunately I cannot use them as a source to blow off any more steam. Truly one of the best Overlord Novelizations, or books in general, that I've read in a long time.

It is a branching pathway that does a great job in showing the stark differences in a person who only knows of humanity and one that has humanity. It shows how utter alien and ruthless that Ainz has become in his Skeleton body in the main works compared to when he has his emotions fully intact. This is truly a masterpiece.

We really do need more AU's on the Overlord universe, its just so... mutable.
On a conceptual level, Overlord is a giant stack of Irony mixed with Human nature and butterfly effects. Not perfect but extremely good. I really wish this one would keep going. Although to be honest Ains was a little bit of a wimp in the last few pages of the 3rd volume.
(Why is there a 50 word review limit.....) - StarflightRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0the premise of the fan fiction is probably something we all wanted to see and the reactions of Aniz and the rest of Nazrick was well protrayed. There are also no major grammar issues and the frist half of the story was excellent. Although some supporting characters do die early on in the story like Hamsuke, and some characters like the Swords of Darkness survive. Unfortunately it started going downhill at around the middle of the chapter. The characters started doing things that they wouldn't really do and the whole thing feels rushed and forced. For example, Enri decided to be 'wolf queen' and rebelled against the Kingdom. But she is only a village girl and would never realistically do this. At most she would repell the invasion and then submit to Aniz or Momon and not invade the kingdom when both are in talks with the king. But overall its a decent filler story.
