- 42offsideRoyal Road★★ 2.0This story, judging by the broken grammar and incomprehensible exchanges of strange insults, is probably as close as it's possible to get to reading such a story in the original Chinese.
If there is any actual plot or character beyond hyper masculine posturing, I was unable to unravel it.
It's possible it gets better in later chapters. I stopped at chapter eight. - KulingileRoyal Road★ 1.0It’s a typical chinese novel: young master everywhere, character with their head so far up their ass it’s ridicule, a degrading view of women, 2D villain: the main antagonist of the first part of the novel reason to try ti kill the protagonist is because: « he has a reputation to maintain ».
In itself, the story isn’t so bad, if a little unimaginative, but the translation is not good. Better than a machine translated one, but the word used for things do not stop to change, for example the second realm that was named Waking realm at first, was then changed to Destiny Spring realm. Then there is often a reference to a Mount Qomolangma wich is refered to a single time as the Everest. He uses words that do not makes sense like overmatch in the place of normal one, in that case powerhouse.
But all this can be forgiven, the worst is that there is often words missing, the verb tense change all the time and in genral, the syntax is bad. - kronosxviiiRoyal Road★ 1.0I went into it thinking it's a novel being written by the poster, but it turns out that it's a translation with permissions given and varified with RR and other relevant parties.
Anyway, I only read through the first chapter and decided to give it a hard pass.
It's very headache inducing.
The best way to describe it, is that it was translated without being proofread, like at all. As such there's a lot of misused and out of tense word usage. It felt very disjointed as it's difficult to get a grasp of what was going on since it cycles through the tenses rapidly, often mid sentence. Past, Present, Future. Fk if I know.
