Overleveled: Arrival in a New World

Description

When an aimless guy dies making a noble sacrifice, he is presented with a chance to live life better in a new world. However, due to some godly negligence and terrible luck, his arrival does not go as planned. Having acquired overwhelming power, he has to confront a familiar question. How should I live my life?

This story is heavily influenced by Japanese light novels in regards to fast progression, overpowered protagonist, and hidden protagonist tropes.

As a heads up, this story is intended to be, above all else, fun. It does not take itself too seriously. My goal is to share my love of the genre tropes to make you smile and laugh.

The update schedule is "when I can, but it's still active."

Since this has become something of a minor issue, if you see this story anywhere other than royal road or scribblehub, I didn't post it. Please consider going to my patreon and supporting my work directly!

Over levelled and over powered are two of the key descriptors for the main protagonist in this story. However, the writer makes a point to cap his ridiculous stats pretty much from the get go, and adds a few interesting handicaps both implies and literal to sort of lower the ‘just beat everything to a pulp’ wish fulfillment we often see in Lit RRGs. It’s a refreshing read, and I intend to stick with it.
Style: The story is written in third person, with a heavy leaning on witty dialogue. World details and general descriptions are light, leading to a rapid pace style of story telling, though time is spent explaining the leveling and skill systems.
Story: Noah a former school teacher meets an abrupt end. An emissary of God reincarnates Noah with the intent of giving him a second change to do something worth while with his life, then casts him out into the vast emptiness of space, where Noah collides with a cosmic horror accidentally killing it and veering him off course to a planet he’s not meant to be on.
Character: All characters we’ve met are delightful to read about, particularly through their witty banter.
    Highly recommended.

Overall: gradual world-building, an interesting system and a relatable main character.
Story: the beginning of the story splits off in two narrative storylines, we have what is happening to Noah and what is happening with the Gods. I like the way being "isekai-ed" was explained and all the small details that build up into revelations soon after. There's a clear payoff of every piece of information the reader is given.
Characters: Noah is really relatable to me, because I have worked as a teach myself for some time and his initial introduction on Earth really resonated with me. I love how his teaching skill from Earth came with him to the new world. We haven't had the time to explore a lot of the side-characters yet, but the information given about them feels important and deliberate. The author clearly knows how to build a character in the reader's mind. By chapter 8, I already have a pretty good idea what kind of person Lydia is and I care what happens to her.
Style: There's changes between 1st and 3rd person perspective but it works well in the sense that it makes the two storylines easy to distinguish. Description was just the right amount for me and it kept me immersed in the story. I love the way skills and levels were explained and woven into the story.
Grammar: nothing major stood out to me, I was immersed the entire time I binged the story.

Neat. I like it so far. It could of course always take a nose dive or be left in dev hell but let's just ignore those possibilities and just focus on the fact that this story is neat. I don't know how this hasn't reached 50 words yet. But anyway it's just a neat story concept and I wanna see where this goes.

Light-hearted and fun LitRPG story. MC becomes accidentally OP and starts to accustom to his new reality, and just tries to have a good time and live his life for once. If you want to read something very serious and grimdark, there are plenty of those on this site already. Really enjoyed it so far.

The story is great. The humor funny. The characters are amazing. The world is interesting, and man, it’s just so good. I’ve read all that is out so far, hoping it continues.
the only down side is that there aren’t gobs of chapters. I want more! Please!
To the Author, please keep writing!

I'm really enjoying this. It's kind of silly but it's poking fun at all the right things.
Banter? Check. Funny? Check. Well written? Check.
it's an enjoyable lighthearted mockery of litrpgs. Tropes are present and abused.
looking forward to seeing where the author takes it.

    Really good sofar.
I am really looking forward to the next chapters from the moment I am done with the current one.
Characters are great and the author gives them reasonable reactions and personality hinting at deeper depths  without fealing the need to drown the reader in an info dump/s.

The most impressive aspect of this story isn't even the wonderful pacing, but that despite following every trope worth mentioning, there is an ever-present stake in the story.
If the author leans a little more into character drama and allows serious moments to happen and characters to deeply react to, I see qn easy ticket to the hall of fame.

Overall I personally think that over leveled arrival in a new world (olanw) is one of the greatest books on the platform and needs more recognition. and I think olanw hit all the spots I expected and or wanted and needs more appreciation.
I can't think of any feed back for the style due to how good it is (in my opinion) aside from maybe a few plot points (cant name any of the top of my head).
I have yet to find any issues with the grammar so far, and I think that olanw reads easily and makes sense when reading.
for the story I think it is a little rough at some points but is overall amazing and dose not need to much more work. though I would like to see more of  Magnum.
I think the characters could use a little bit more personality and depth but otherwise this checks all the boxes. they currently feel I little like cardboard cutouts with really good AI that just malfunctions for a little bit sometimes and makes decisions no one would make.
overall I think this is an amazing book that has some room for improvement but can think of any. 10/10 must read

I thought it would be way lighter in the woldbuilding and more of a parody but I'm so glad it's not. The story is actually great, the humour is balanced and the worldbuilding might not be super new but there are interesting ideas. I'm especially delighted to have a female sidekick who is not one dimensional, sexualised or useless even if she is weaker. Some dialogues might be a bit over the top with the teasing but all in all good communication between them. The mc - while OP - is not an edgelord, he is genuinely interested in the world and explores his own uniqueness and existence. You can feel that this story is written by an adult with skill in writing and a variety of knowledge. So 100% recommend and I hope the author will figure out a constant upload schedule soon :)
