Otherworldly Trials [LITRPG Adventure]

Description
Zeke suddenly finds himself transported to a strange dungeon, where his only companions were an overprotective sister and a 10 year old girl. If that wasn't enough, knights continue to get in their way, and with no hesitation to strike them down where they stand.
Luckily for them, the system has their backs--regardless of how painful it is. Follow Zeke and Mikella as they survive an entirely new world, filled with other folks who had the system's backing for centuries on end. Will their own experiences be enough to survive in this new world, and more importantly, to protect their little sister Clara? They sure as hell will try.
This litrpg is focused on two main characters, each with their own stat boards to focus on--one support, and one combat. Get ready for an interesting, definitely not family-friendly, action-packed adventure!

- AbhinavJoshiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I don't understand how the RR algorithm works, but I can say that this book is a fantastic read. The characters are well-developed and believable, making it easy to get invested in their stories. The elements of town building add an engaging layer to the plot, complemented by a budding romance and thrilling adventure. Despite the fact that there is always room for improvement in any author's work, it's truly surprising to see that this book has only 100 followers.
- Witchdoctor24Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A really good story that follows two characters that find themselves dripped in dangerous dungeon.
Zeke is a nervous man with self esteem issues and a penchant for self sacrifice. Mikella is a hot head who is fiercely protective of her baby sister. The dungeon challenges them into becoming a powerful support mage and warrior respectively. The story really begins to shine when they make it into town and we learn more about the world.
There are only two main complaints I have at the moment, both pretty minor. There are a couple of child characters in Mikella's sister and the daughter of the town lords who are said to be 9 and 11 respectively. They don't act like their age even slightly, instead acing like 6 to 8 year-olds. I chalk this up to kids being difficult to write.
The other problem is the balance of power between Zeke and Mikella. Zeke seems to get titles and levelups for every action, but despite some really epic deeds Mikella's earned titles seem lackluster in comparison.
For romance lovers there is intense romantic chemistry between Zeke and Mikella that unfortunately has no real payoff in this book. There is no romance tag however so maybe the author is going for a more found family approach instead. Could also be that they didn't want to bog down the first volume with a romantic subplot or they are not confident in writing a compelling romance. Either way, there ain't a release for the tension with what is written so far.
All in all a good read that I would recommend for anyone. - winteralchemistRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is one of the stories that I look forward to updates. The characters feel unique and three dimensional with their own desires and flaws. The system is interesting and progression feels good but not just blowing through levels. Looking forward to the next book and more people should give this a shot.
- killiantruegamesRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0There is nothing really wrong with this story, but by god did it not manage to grab me. The system seems ccokiecutter, the characters dont have any depth so far, and their relationship seems a bit forced. I haven’t read much of this story and I’m entirely open to the possibility it turns around and becomes one of the best stories ever, but there was nothing in the first arc that grabbed me. I’ve read fanfiction for well over a decade, it really doesn’t take much to hook me. I’d settle for a singe funny interaction, a character to latch onto, even a badass moment that doesn’t feel like I’ve read it a thousand times before. This definitely needs something to separate itself from the compatition
