Only One Heart [LitRPG]

This is a story about the nice dark wizard Evan who will do anything to get his hands on yet another mythical essence, having a small reward for his head in the Hall of General HitKill in the heart of the empire, where he was born.

Alongside him is the mysterious James, whose transcendence is based on the most diverse taboos, even though he is very good at covering it up. After all, he is the lover of the empress of the Central Empire.

The pair thus venture on a bifurcated quest for transcendence, both helping each other, though sometimes competing for one overlapping resource or another.

But no big deal, given that one is an "expert" on ancient horrors (often even giving the audience a chance to participate) and the other a swordsman who has seduced the wife of the strongest man in the world.
