One-shot - GotW : Tocalone

The story is set in Aquitaine (modern France) and was originally written in French, which is the native birthplace of the author. Its aim is to be a human story focusing on regular people facing internal conflicts over their definition of what is right and how far they are willing to go to achieve their desires. The human heart in conflict with itself, as Faulkner put it. I like to go with "Slice of Life".

Set in the fictional village of Vallères-sur-Verselles, it follows the adventures of 4 characters as they struggle to cope with a foreign Empire building a dam that would radically modernize and fundamentally change their way of life.
