- AvatarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a fast pace and entertaining read worth the time.
Keep up the good work
With the inclusion of good image helps the reader to visualise the content and imagine that moment occurred in the story. Action scenes are entertaining and fun to read.
Yes are some moments which doesn't makes any sense which is the power structure and mc sword which is not lore accurate and is world breaking
Sorry English is not my first language - IchteltRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is one of the must read fanfic if you love the universe of one piece. I love the fact the author chose to start the story in a period that the mange did not really explore which give a lot of freedom for original character and event while still staying within the genre and style of the manga.
- t1ntedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have to say, this is one of the first one piece stories I have seen that's not set at the same time as canon, and it gives a fresh perspective on the legendary characters. I can tell the author did a lot of research on the one piece world, which makes the story feel real and immersive. The mix of canon and original characters are also refreshing, and the main character, while strong, really puts in the effort to improve. I can’t wait to see how Luffy and his crew interact with Damien! Overall a great story, and one I will definitely revisit in the future!
- Verden_NRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I'm not a fan of one piece, I know practically nothing about this universe, except that there is a certain Loofy and his rubber fruit, but the way this author managed to build a narrative... I was interested in this universe for the first time. I like a protagonist who is capable of killing, and not just beating and endlessly releasing his opponents.
Perhaps switching between i hate pirates and let's go kill a couple hundred marines was a little jarring, but I liked that too.
Thank you to the author for introducing me to this (slightly) strange, but no less interesting universe. Hopefully, over time, your work will receive more of the attention it deserves.
Update. So 140 chapters in and yeah... I like the characters. Damien has some greyish morale code, which is good, Girls have different personalityes. Kuzan...
I'm a bit worryied the boy still might try to go with mariens.
World building is good. Islands are uniqe and have there own atmosphere. The plot? It's fine I guess. Can't really say more. Also couldn't judge grammar cause I'm not a native speaker. Also the last few chapters were enjoyable to read. Kinda curios to see (read) what would happen next. - betoRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This fanfic based on One Piece is fast paced, very fast paced. Its entertaining for sure, there are a lot, a lot of fights in this story, almost every chapter. As a consequence, there is less than ideal ammount of worldbuilding (it is assumed as known, due to its fanfic status), just the bare basics are explained.
Worse however, is that the pace gets in the way of character development. Up to chapter 96 (thats a lot!) maybe the MC is fleshed out. Everybody else feels like a cookie cutter secondary character with a fresh coat of paint.
It could be much much better. Contrary to anime or manga, when writing a story there is more liberty to write about the characters thought processes, how they think and feel. There is very little about that beyond the first characters. Emotions are not conveyed throughout the narration nor the dialogs! For a character-driven story like this, its a big fat loss. Lots and lots of room for improvement.
Flaws aside, also have to concede that its a fun story to read.
