Description

John has died many times before.

Who hasn’t in this day and age?

The average person could go online in seconds and die to their heart’s content. There were so many ways to experience it – death by fall, death by fire, death by the blade.

But to die – to truly die – who can seriously say they died to a friend?

Would one taste pain, futility, despair, but most of all, regret?

After a life of success, but a life of loss, fate has given John another chance.

Armed with knowledge of everything: of quests, of skills, of strategies, and yes, of the occasional game-breaking bugs, regret will be a thing of the past.

To re-enter the game, to reach a peak he once could only dream of.

Rise.

This is my first advanced Review XD
Style: The author has the right mix between description and flow. One of the better styles on this site. Until chapter 28 not a single large infodump.
Grammar: Very good. I don´t search for errors but i usually notice if a sentence doesn´t make sense.
Story: The Game World is interresting and can be expanded upon. The premiss is rather generic.
Character: That aspect can still be improved. Not that i have any idea about writing good characters but the protagonist comes off as rather bland until now. Maybe I am just a bit harsh, but there is no real emotion from him.
Overall: I couln´t stop reading ^^ It´s not on the level of "Don´t fear the reaper" but maybe it gets to that. There is hope ;)

Its unimaginative. A typical vrmmo story. Get a class, skills, levels, and become the best. If you're into these kinds of stories, it'll be ok. But nothing special. Not at this point. Worse off, it's a second chance novel. Usually I love these stories, but when our mc goes back into the past with knowledge of all the important chests and mob patterns, it doesnt give our mc a challenge. Theres nothing for our mc to overcome, no struggles whatsoever. The best parts of this novel are outside the game, which is pretty well done. But most of the story so far reads like zhan long. Kind of. What I mean is he fights mobs and damage numbers come up. If that's your thing, read ahead. If you need more than that, avoid with a passion.
At this point, it's more of a bad premise. If you go back in time, and have the all important future knowledge, and still cant become one of the best at a game, you've got some serious issues. We're 30 chapters in. I understand laying groundwork and creating a firm foundation, but this is just silly. Why would I care about some dude slaying some generic mob? I'd rather do it myself than read about it. Create some tension, excitement, anything. There are vrmmo's capable of this. This is just boring though.
2 stars for a substandard story
