Interesting start Reminiscent of the Great Tower which I was sad to see go on permanent hiatus. Will write a more comprehensive review when there are a few more chapters. The grammar and style are good.
The only advice I'd give from the perspective of a reader, is the very first chapter was a little abrupt. Perhaps a little elaboration or something added to give you a better feeling for the type of person the main character is. While I'm sure I will get to know him as later chapters go, this is your chance to hook people reading your fiction. The few things I've written I know that I've rewritten my first chapter many time especially as I write the story and it evolves to the point that my first chapter doesn't quite fit anymore.
