Description

The Third Princess Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself is one of the treasures of Re-Estize; The Golden Princess herself. She is also a calculating psychopath, tactful manipulator, and rotten to the core. Follow her, her lover and obsession Climb, and the scheming nobles of the Kingdom as she plots a secure and quiet life for her future.

This is an Overlord / オーバーロード fanfiction.

No upload here this week. I'm publishing a one shot on my other sites, and RR doesn't really support that, so you will have to make the perilous trek to Ao3 or FFN.

[Update 2023/04/02] - IRL has smoothed out enough that I have been able to get back to work. I appreciate your patience.

Though I'm not far into this story yet, so far I've found it extremely fascinating.
TheNumberOfTheBeast has an eloquent style of writing and is extremely good at conveying what the Princess is thinking in these moments. It's rife with political intrigue and the game of royal politics. The dynamics of Renner's plotting and machiavellianism is bound to keep those who are intrigued by these kinds of politics and relationships enthralled.
The psychological factors of Renner's psychopathic personality keep me interested in how she will find ways to manipulate people next. A character who stands tall and is well behaved on the surface, but riddled with plots beneath. Whether it be to grab power, or to firmly maintain a grasp on her "puppy" she will find a way.
    Great story!

Reading this fanfiction was a really great experience.
When you start to venture into the world of amateur authors you start to come across a heterogeneous number of different qualitative works: many times it happens to read works in which the writer's inexperience is remarkable which, despite the level of passion put into it, results in a reading not fully satisfactory; there are some that instead manage to exceed your expectations and show you an intertwining of the story and a characterization of the characters that leave you amazed; in other cases, unfortunately, you would just want to gouge out your eyes for having induced such horrors at your sight that they make you regret not having thrown bleach on your pupils.
And then, then there are jobs like this. A pearl among oysters.
Reading TGP is like sitting at a luxury restaurant table for the first time; you know that you are faced with something that is out of the ordinary but it is only when you taste the first bite that your mind begins to understand what "special dish" means.
The writing style borders on perfection: it alternates dry, direct moments that strike the brain like a precise dart with other baroque ones, in which the words fit together perfectly to form a colorful puzzle that wisely describes the protagonists.
Speaking of protagonists, I struggle to find such a well detailed Renner. Usually when you have to implement the actions and thoughts of a character who in the canon of the story is described with "a monstrous intelligence" even the most capable writers can find themselves in front of a wall: this is because they always run the risk of designing plans that at first glance seem incredibly sophisticated and intricate but which, to a keen eye, are full of holes like gruyere (a defect that, imho, also plagues the main story); luckily the “golden princess” here stands out with her intellectual abilities without the need for an omniscient narrator to remind us every two seconds how much her mind i

A decent fanfic where we get to explore more of Princess Renner (who got completely shafted in the original source :/) and how she chafes against noble society in Pre-Nazarick Re-Estize. Definitely not a fanfic where the protagonist is the big hero, but still an enjoyable read of someone who is unable to truly understand her surroundings despite her intellect.

First off, really distinctive writing style that pops: that sort of thing is always nice to see in fiction. Great study of an interesting character from canon who had a lot of complexity that you've certainly portrayed in an entertaining and, in my opinion, accurate way. Furthermore, Re-Estize receives a lot of love in this fanfic as well with how you explore the lives of the people in it, how the MC interacts and reacts with the world around her, and all the other small details you've seamlessly added in.
Wonderful work of writing. Please continue the hard work!

Style: I will say its unique, Different from how i would say Overlord is written. An example of this would be the monologs of each character they are usually alot some may say excessive but i think that's what separates this fan fic from the rest of the Overlord story. . I mean every writer has their own writing style
Story : Story is 10 /10 for me i feel like the added conflicts further amplify this story to new highs..
Grammar:i don't normally care about grammar in stories... But for those who care about it i believe this is a 9/10 there are some parts here and there but overall its nothing serious... Its hard to notice even..
Character: The author added depth into this characters and makes the story even more interesting.. THE internal conflicts are what drives this story forward for me and the excessive internal monolog just amplify it even higher 👍👍so that's what makes it even more interesting for me..Ow and the relationship between climb and renner is sometimes sad and can make u cry
Overall: I will say its a 9/10 story.. The Author said they will be following the novels changing some small parts to the cannon story.. So sometimes when reading and i notice something that doesn't line up with the Overlord cannon i just write it off and a change the author did... But its nothing significant it would be great it the author mentions all the changes so that i can differentiate from a mistake to a necessarily change..

I read this with no prior knowledge of the overlord world or it's characters. That said I never felt lost of overwhelmed while reading this as it does such an excellent job focussing the story on what is most important.
That being the stories protagonist. Renner is virtually unparralled in intellect but she doesn't have some godlike omniscience. That means a good portion of the story is dedicated to Renner puzzling out the critical information from seemingly small things. This leads to some great setup and payoff arcs throughout the story.
Renner it should also be said is terrifying. She is cold and logical, completely lacking the ability to empathise with others. She does experience emotion but rarely ones she can display without tipping off others to her nature.
All in all I highly reccomend this story to anyone who enjoys reading about the villain.
