At first glance I thought this would be kinda boring but decided to give it a shot, good thing too 'cuz it's really well written. The plot, characters, setting, and interpretation of the source material are all engaging, plus the writing style, format, and general quality is 4+ star material. The pokemon aren't written like humans in superanimal bodies either, instead taking the mentality of their forms/types/personality/age (not to mention the absence of the horrendously common 'my starter is my gf' crap). So far I'm really liking the story and hope to see it to the end, author willing (plz come back).
My one gripe is with the co-MC who is pretty much a girl version of Ash and her incessant need to walk into/create problems while insisting everything should be handled with kiddy gloves. This happens over and over and she never helps solve anything while always needing to be saved, yet she never learns and just doubles down on the naive idealism while fighting crime/gangs in Murdertown Orre. She is kinda ruining the dark/gritty vibe and is infecting the other MC with the awkward juxtaposition simply because 'wow so nice, what a good person'. In addition, I find it really weird that they find her so essential... her only skill is spotting something instantly that anyone else could easily see and figure out in less than 30 seconds by learning what to look out for.
However, ~*pokemon*~ so it is entirely forgivable, that's just the way the pokeverse works; always has, always will. So ya, plz come back HelloYellow, we need updates!

I thoroughly enjoyed binging this and am going to be an active reader as long as it continues. I don't know how to do proper reviews but I would highly recommend anyone who has any interest in a good story to give it a shot.

Warning I'm no spelling wiz not do I have a college degree in anything remotely  literature base so take everything I say with a hint of salt and this review is coming from a guy who has played way to much Pokemon and this still being my favorite and this is my first review and I'm using a phone so grammer didn't leave it was never here now on to the review
the characters:  the character are confidently fleshed out and we get time to know them I was worried we would get next to nothing in the characters department or we would get what we already know from the character with out developing any further but that not the case some small step here and there have shown there will be step and have been steps being made to advance the story and the story deviate almost right away with how escape making it it's own story and for Grammer...... I'll just wait till somebody that actually know how to write a college paper without getting about 50 correction every paper but I will say I saw no huge flaw and the flow was never interrupted by something obvious

This is one of the better pokefics out there imo but i still have some mixed feelings about the story itself.
The setup is different and refreshing, the plot has been thought out and doesn't feel haphazardly put together and the author does a good job in painting the world for the reader.
What i disliked was that the story seemed to be taking a darker perspective (which i liked!) without fully committing to it (this is what i didn't like). Although a touch heavy on the edginess and angst it is still a good fic. However, making the world seem dangerous and threatening but pulling all punches when it comes down to it comes across, to me, like a scary tiger with no claws or teeth (which is not strange for a pokémon story but i was hoping for something different)
Its not what i was looking for but i would recommend giving it a go and seeing if you like the style because, despite my criticism, it certainly is better than many of the poorly planned and poorly written pokefics out there
