Fantastic story. Excellent writing, fantastic pacing, great characters.
We follow Estala, the Krakotl prestige exterminator from "Death of a Monster", as she tracks down a serial killer on Venlil Prime. Each chapter gives us a brief glimpse into Estala's past before continuing the current plot. A fantastic plot device that provides a lot of depth to an already amazing character.
This is a Nature of Predators fanfic with some elements crossing over from the fanfic Nature of a Giant.

It's more of everyone's favourite kind-hearted, overly-competent (yet dense) blue bird Estala! What's not to like? While not a literary masterpiece of plot-twists, the sort that keeps you on the edge of your seat, this cozy and fun read about Estala's discovery of just how deep the Federation's rot goes is thoroughly enjoyable. Recommended for all readers of Nature of Predators who have also read AcceptableEgg's "Nature of a Giant" (and its subsequent stories), as this ties up some loose ties left in that story quite satisfactorily.
