  The story tries to capture the repeating lives, and does it for the most part. The problem is that the pacing and emotional distance is too great to connect naturally. It has this sense that everything is just told and it is done in a state of constant fast forward, time jumps paragraph by paragraph. Without a strong emotional connection the hook itself doesn't set well and the story concludes with the reader unsatisfied.
