Description
The crew of the Dawning Horizon are making a journey across the Pacific to receive cargo in China when they encounter a strange event in the middle of the pacific. With all communications lost and their GPS receivers not working, they must try to survive for as long as possible to discover the new world they have found themselves in.
This is the author’s first story, it combinesGATE: And So The JSDF Fought ThereandJormungand, as well as myriad other stories that have had lesser influence.
Expect a story that's a little tongue-in-cheek, with people from a contemporary setting in a non-contemporary world. The story starts following a small group, but as the story progresses I intend for more characters to be introduced. The story will probably only be told from the PoV of the contemporary humans, not the natives.
Written in Partnership withTydorius.
As a fair warning: This story follows sailors. Sailors who swear a lot. If that's not your jam, this probably isn't for you.
I have the "Traumatising Content" and "Gore" tags. While I don't intend to write anything positively gory (at least at this stage), or anything super messed up, I want the options in the future to be able to have it. They wouldn't be constant themes though, they would be small snippets added for shock value or to progress a narrative.
I haven't added the Sexual Content tag. I'm really bad at writing that sort of content so i'm unlikely to add that type of content, but if this changes i'll update my tags.

The premise of a ship being taken to another time/world/place is not new, but so far this is quite solid. I won't go any further than that - Considering we're only two chapters in, saying anything else would spoil 80% of what's currently written. As such, I'll just run through the scores.
Style
The style is solid, and things move at a steady pace. So far the story is maintaining a fairly third person view, with occasional focus on a specific character. The bridge banter is great, and the writing style is doing well to bring out some of the differences in character quirks.
Grammar
So far things are solid. While I'm writing this on chapter 2.3, I expect the quality will continue as far as grammar is concerned.
Character Score
Learning more about the crew and seeing things from their perspective has been great so far. It is noticable that a number of characters are already showing personality traits. This early differentiation of characters is a good sign for the future of this work.
Overall
I am interested to see how tings progress and to learn more about their new location. I will update this around chapter ~10. If word count stays steady that will likely be ~20,000 to 30,000 words into the book so I'll have a much better picture of things.
