Nova: The Final Reincarnation [LitRPG, Reincarnation]
Community Rating
Description
Many lifetimes ago, Nova was a simple mafia don. Not the kind you often see in movies, but the kind that had no other options. He fought for the young and innocent to have decent lives, and then one day, he was at the top, not quite sure how he got there.
As a retired mobster, he started a cat shelter. That’s the kind of guy he was.
And since then, he has lived for eight lifetimes. Each one in a different world, and each time sticking to those same values.
At the end of his eighth life, as the first archmage to live, he asked for a peaceful world next.
But instead, he stands before his greatest challenge yet.
And like always, he would either bend this new world to his will, or he would die trying.
Again.
What to expect:
Dark high fantasy, but not fully grimdark.
Kind and just MC, but with a heavy dash of pragmaticism.
Soul-based leveling system.
Light on action, heavy on exploring the world and its characters.
No harem.

- DukeDarthonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A nice story about an old soul in a young body. Some good world building. It's nice to read a tale with fairly moral characters doing the right thing for good reasons.
In a future edit, I'd recommend changing the age from 4 to 8-ish so that some of the physical actions are slightly more believable, but that's a very minor gripe. - StygonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Though there aren't many chapters out now, I can see this going somewhere. It leans more into immediate power than it does progression, but the powers are unique and the MC is likeable. Most notable is definitely the System in this story, which is just incredible. Rather than doing anything using Royal Roads limited formatting, the author has decided to screenshot an outside source and implement photos of the System into their story, leading to detailed and interesting screens.
The style not overly complicated like I've seen some, but it also doesn't push for the most simplistic vocabulary. It's easy to read and easy to understand what's happening, but the writer doesn't spell every single detail out for the reader either/
Grammar wise there are no complaints. While I don't know if it's perfect, nothing ever really broke my immersion. I know some are crazy nitpicky about this, but honestly with how many chapters writers need to produce, there are bound to be a few mistakes without professional editors.
Story-wise is very good as well. It has a certain audience, knows that audience well, and plays into it. Not a story for everyone, but it also makes clear what kind of story it will be from the very start- if it's not for you, it's easy to stop before you get too far into it.
The characters are interesting thus far, but the only complaint I would have is that we haven't truly run into anyone evil yet. The story is centered around how too many people in this world are selfish to the extent that it's all corrupt and the MC will burn it down to rebuild better, but everyone seems to have a heartfelt justification for their actions. Normally this would be good for villains to have justification, but it seems rather out of place in this story. That being said, it's still very early on, so there's more than enough time to introduce some real evil characters, so it would be absurdly unfair to rate it badly when the people we've seen are well written, even if a bit out of plac - YakuzibRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story so far has been very entertaining.
As a reader, I’ve grown quite fond of the characters.
I very like the world building with the impression of something big churning within its depths.
The system in this system is orignal and the implications of its existence are too.
Even if sometimes the dialogs may seem clumsy or out of touch with the power scale known to the reader, it is pretty minor.
I can only hope that the quality will stay for the following chapters.
Good job author ! - Yeehaw13Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great book! I spend a lot of time reading stories of LITRPG. I loved this storyline and that the character is developing as a person while getting stronger. I appreciate the depth of difficulty he goes to succeed, and it is just an overall great story. I hope it continues to completion and is written quickly! I’d read this again!
- lordnikelasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a reincarnation-isekai story, where the MC is an extremely capable 4-year-old. That in and of itself will tell you a lot about what to expect. <3. But, jokes aside, Nova (the MC) is someone who's been around the block a few times in multiple ways, has a strong sense of justice, and REALLY HATES seeing children in danger. This makes him an MC you really want to root for, especially because he immediately throws his whole being into trying to make the world a better place.
The other main side of this story is the progression part of "progression fantasy." Nova has access to the knowledge of his past selves, and although he has to unlock some of them by "leveling up," he starts out with the powers of a legendary assassin and archmage. So there's a lot of strong-to-stronger going on.
Other characters in the story do suffer a bit from the classic "adults are useless" paradox, but their motivations are well-described.
All in all, this is an enjoyable story. If you want to imagine a 4 year old running around changing lives, this is a worthy read. - FoxofsnofRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have to admit that i get addicted to reading some books pretty easily but this one is well written and I finished reading all (currently 60) chapters in less than a day...
A big pro is propably the style the sytem windows have and the way the MC interacts with his surroundings. He also has a well thought out improvement curve that perfectly surfs the line between ridiculus and impressive.
So... to anyone who is looking for a MC that got reincarnated and lives as a child, this is propably a good fit for you as the plot is well thought out and he fits into the world perfectly if u know what I mean. - XtraRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5It had such a promising start but then it was just too much and broke the suspension of disbelief. It had an amazing start that really draws you in because the conflict is interesting and works very well with the setting.
But there is some things I don't like such as forming the contract with a stranger that he just met. So much tropes are thrown together later.
I think another issue is how the main character is acting like he has the solution to everything when the setting and story shouldn't have allowed him to get so strong and using his powers to carry the story. The story promised that it was not going to be about might and you would expect him to be more cunning. But the plot doesn't follow through on the promise. A plausible solution is always given whenever there is a problem so it doesn't leave the reader with a mystery to think about.
There's a line where he realizes that there are people much stronger than him. But if he were as smart as he claimed, he would have already figured this out before carrying out his plan.
Also some dialogues later on feel very formulaic or generic. - The Cactus LordRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Within the first 5 chapters we get several dozen paragraphs, if not several pages of MC going on about how the mc isn't a great person, but has one line they never have and never will cross, and that those who cross it for the greater good are just hypocrites. This line is harming kids. Then he intentionally eats a kids soul for a power boost with barely any thought or justification. A power boost which he hasn't expressed a reasonable need for yet, he has plenty of time to get the power hes pushing so fast for the slow way, it'll take 2/3 days out of his 1 week time limit instead of 1day.
Grammar and spelling seems good though, didn't notice any issues, (and I'm pretty good at noticing them) that aren't obviously intentional errors in dialogue, because a child is speaking and kids don't do the speak good.
3/5 because that's a pretty significant bit of hypocrisy, with the way the mc is portrayed it would be an instant 0/5 character score on an advanced review, it's so jarring, and he's otherwise also not very interesting with a very bland internal dialogue. - ForrestTheManiacRoyal Road★★★ 2.5It's a decently interesting start, for the first 2 chapters, and then it gets.... really boring, you'd expect a 1000yr old reincarnator to have a fully developed personality and since he's apparently been very used to crime at least a little more suspicious of people. The system is okay, but boring and pretty meh. Nova is just not a main character that im interested in reading about.
- MonioDRoyal Road★★ 2.0The idea of the whole novel is really good, the system is interesting and follows some kind of logic.
I didn't manage to go deeper into the story sadly. The reason being is that the author for some reason makes the mc act like a moron.
The mc is this reincarnated boing with 100's years of exp and yet he tells everything to random ppl, at this point of the story he has met 7-8 adults of which he killed 2 and already 1 person know his whole story about the reincarnation and the other knows every shady deal and all his plans for the future
This could have been one really good novel but I think the biggest problem is the author skill in writing convincing characters.
A really generous 2/5
