I really enjoyed your character progression and overall arc. I don't usually find myself reading alternative history, but I think you found a way to make it accessible and engaging to read.
Your characters are relatable and interesting in a foreign setting to the reader. The guided imagery with the attached map really helped me to fill in details and locations that helped to cement in the setting. The vocabulary introduced within the story isn't always clear at first, but I found myself delighted to have any queries answered for me as I read on.
The pacing of your story in linear enough to not feel jarring as the narration switches throughout the story to different characters.
I found myself hungry for more, even when the end chapter came closing in. Well done! I hope to see more work posted. Great start, keep growing in your craft ❤️
