Description
Fighters break things.
Mechanics fix ‘em.
Those were the two truths Perry lived back on Earth. When he got isekai’d into a young noble with newfound magical powers, he found himself stuck with an awful choice. Try to survive on the Front, the mystical battleground where Hydras and Devils roamed free… Or find another way.
So he took an oath. An oath that made him a Magus Dominus. A mage lord. He’d escaped his fate, least for the moment.
For most his life, Perry was used to being alone. When he got sucked into Ro'an, he was suddenly thrust into the role of surrogate son to his loyal servant and half-brother to a tempestuous Storm mage. With their help, Perry prepared his best to be lord and protector for his domain. And if he fought a few monsters, and helped a few people along the way, well…

- Andrew616Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am truly enjoying this story. All the set up and foundation work was a lot of fun. Getting to know the characters, the magic systems, the world, and the new village were great. Now that all the set up is done it looks like we're transitioning into kingdom building and revealing the great mysteries of the world and expanding the magical capabilities of Perth, I can't wait for the next chap!
- NyxarisRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Really enjoyed reading this book so far. Loved how the author has been evolving the story, the characters, and especially the world building. It’s very much a Lord setting up his domain type book. But I’m struck by how complex Perry is. Not many authors can bring to like such a complex character, and I believe the author is doing such a great job of this. The pacing and flow are good. Not too fast or slow so the reader comes along. Overall a really solid book.
- Winged ThingRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like the story quite a bit. Has some very interesting ideas, good characters and an enjoyable premise and plot where the MC is for all intents and purposes affecting the world around them, not being affected by it as I could describe many other similar stories to this one.
That said, I've found myself skipping more and more of the in between parts as I've never been much of a slice of life kinda bloke if that's your bag then you will find much to love here. Yeah, 5* simple as, it's good - TajarimRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Absolutely captivating! This story masterfully blends the familiar tropes of reincarnation with the exciting world of magic. The protagonist's journey from their past life to becoming a mage lord is filled with intrigue, clever strategies, and thrilling battles. The world-building is rich and detailed, and the characters are well-developed, making you genuinely care about their fates. I couldn't put it down! The author's pacing is excellent, keeping you hooked from beginning to end. Highly recommended for fans of fantasy and those seeking a fresh take on the reincarnation genre.
- muloxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The first standout thing is that Draith never stops introducing new elements. Ever.
In most stories, once you get past the first 30 chapters, the only thing that truly evolves is the plot. Worldbuilding, characters, lore — they usually just tag along out of necessity, shaped to fit the plot.
Not here. Draith is relentless in expanding his universe, and it feels like it’s the widening horizon that drives the plot forward, not the other way around. That alone makes it feel fresh and deeply immersive.
Since Draith likes to do things his own way, character interactions follow suit. They’re very task-driven — connections form naturally through shared accomplishments. The result is genuinely heartwarming, with a touch of humor from the MC’s own sense of inadequacy and the way he pokes fun at others’ quirks.
The author constantly breaks the rhythm without warning, catching me off guard — in the best way. New characters are introduced at his own pace, and it always feels original.
Just like other stories may switch POVs to offer variety, Draith does too — but with his own twist. The story shifts focus based on urgency and priorities: the MC spends short arcs (a few chapters at a time) diving into village politics, merchant negotiations, child-rearing, psychology, technology, adventure, production, love, prototyping… and I’m sure I’m forgetting some.
I find this story particularly enjoyable and genuinely interesting. I came across it when it was still a fledgling — just 10 chapters in — and I immediately felt it had the potential to grow into something unique, something that would give me new feelings. And honestly, I think it did.
At this point, I can only hope the author welds himself to his computer in a cave somewhere — not to write faster, but just to write more. The rhythm is perfect. Nothing should change. - SlowBowRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0There once was a man who took the first step in becoming a mage. His brothers talked him into doing something stupid, which was summoning a soul from another world to suborn it and take its power. Unfortunately the soul from the other world did unto him what he had intended to do to it. Thus our protagonist gets isekaid into a world of magic.
His overbearing father pushes him into committing to a leadership position on the frontier half a world away. His half sister decides to do the same and they work together to prepare for the journey. His sister is far ahead of him in developing her magic so she pushes him to excel and he makes great strides.
They journey into the unknown together until they must separate to manage their own territories. This is the point in the story where I am now.
This is a very comfortable story to read. It has left me wanting more. I find the characters to be quite believable and interesting. The story is about growth, exploration and adventure. The world is fleshed out just enough to be believable and includes a vast array of cultures and situations that will tease you into being interested.
I highly recommend this book. - KrazeKodeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've read 40+ chapters in beta and can confidentally say that this is a great story. We have our main character Perry, who's managed to find himself in the body of Perth, the young arrogant noble kid who has family issues and had just awakened magic. Perth, now Perry, is suddenly put in a position where he must become a lord over a domain or be sent off to the Front to die.
The story follows his journey to his land as he is becoming a Magus Domini, and it takes a slow but steady approach to building up the magic, as we peel back the layers and watch Perry develop himself. But my favorite part are the characters. The dynamic between all of them is refreshing, and I look forward to seeing Perry grow as a lord and discover magic as he continues to learn about this new and fascinating world.
All in all, an easy recommendation. - LjsquaredRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's been a very enjoyable story so far. The writing is quite good, normally I'm finding at least a couple obvious typos or grammatical mistakes per chapter but it appears to be well edited and I didn't recall any with this book. All the characters have been fairly likeable, aside from the ones who were intended not to be of course. I haven't noticed any plot holes or anything that really detracts from the story as of yet. Altogether a very well written and enjoyable story to read and I can't wait for more chapters.
- Prince_UndertakerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story had a lot of elements to build upon resulting in an excellent dish. Litrpg elements, basebuilding and politics, personal and ethical struggles, and fleshing out a lot of characters with personality, and foreshadowing, lore building, and some unique power scales and development. A most excellent read so far.
- JagoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Plenty of other good reviews of this story, so a short review.
Grammar is good, with some piece of scrap from earlier drafts once every three or four chapters.
The story flows well, relatively little conflict and a bit of political play, but they are only a small part of the story, something well justified by the isolated location where the MC set up shop (the first 20 chapter are preparing for it and getting there).
The main part is setting up the infrastructures in the MC territory, dealing with the problems, and slowly discovering the past.
The pace is good, but not fast, so, if you like novels where there is conflict in every chapter, probably it isn't for you. If you like novels where the world is a tapestry that the MC is slowly making, combined with a puzzle he is resolving, you should like it.
P.s.: yes, the metaphors choices were made to stay in theme with the novel.
