- n1nj489Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A very good, very dark(quite literally) story. It's one of my favorite genre, wich is a VRMMO, with a MC with a rare job. It kinda reminds me of Ark.
The character score is not at the max stars because it was a bit bland (IMO) for the secondaries that sounded like "I'm a dick because I can" almost everytime they appeared.
The story felt a bit rushed, with a lot of "bits of time skip" when the MC and the world passed and there wasn't enough explanations or chapters describing what he did, sometime the story was like "I gained a very rare class, let's try this class to see if I like it" to the next chapter be like (in the game) "I have a lot of loot that I can't sell for XXX reasons, so I'm looking for someone to sell to me". Don't take me wrongly, I like it, just that it felt a bit rushed to me, the story could be divided in 2 arcs/books if it was a bit more detailed. - CrimsonWardenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall the story, its characters and the dynamic of the elements within it were great.
The language used was simple enough to understand and easily relatable to MMO/ RPG gamers.
I just really hoped for the story to be continued because of the open ending it had. - N1njaM4ster255Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I found this on Kindle unlimited originally and it was what introduced me to the idea of a relatable story from a necromancer's point of few.
It also started a minor obsession with the class archetype that had me trying to find a game that did it "properly" (ie you have at least a small hord of undead to swarm your targets unfortunately most games only let you control a single undead at a time) - RoknarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As far as I am concerned this story scores 5 across the board. This is one of the most imaginative stories I have read in a while. Grammar is good, char building is good, Lawful Dead (awesome style). All in all really outstanding piece of Litrpg.
- magpieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is starting to get really moving at Chapter11. What I really like is that the two main characters are plucky, "can do" people. They may have been backstabbed and their personal lives kind of suck but they are not quitters.
Where the story is going is unclear, but the prose is good and the characters are sympathetic. - ChevetteRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I really enjoy this story and am looking forward to its return. It could use a little bit of editing for some misspellings (you're instead of your, etc) and yes, as the author is already aware there are a few problems in parts of the plotpoints that he's reworking. But I really enjoy the world, the character development, etc. Fun read all around.
Edited to add: Welp, had to buy it on Amazon because I loved it so much. - DarkAetherRoyal Road★★★ 3.0so at this moment I am currently on chapter 11 and will reupdate if I have a change in opinion. When I first read the synopsis I was fairly interested because necro's are my favorite class out there and honestly just don't get enough spot light time and as such I decided to pick this up, but so far I am actually kind of disapointed due to the fact that while the synapsis reads like this is a LitRPG it's more like a romance/friendship that takes place in a game. At this point the MC is already leveled up by quite a bit but I have only seen his state page once which was when he created his character, and for his skills I don't even know any of his abilities because WE HAVENT SEEN HIM DO ANYTHING! essentially besides seeing the friendship between Liam and Kat nothing else has happened
- IDC-Royal Road★ 1.0Is the story complete?: NO
Did I drop the story?: YES
Is it hard to read?: NO
Did it do something to stand out?: NO
Would I recommend it?: NO
Thoughts:
The story is very generic in it's wish fulfillment power fantasy and yet at the same time does a poor job with logical reasons on the events that spark the rising incident in the story as a whole.
