Description

(Note - book 1 is LIVE on Amazon, so chapters between ch 11 and ch 75 are stubbed. Summary posted)

Welcome to the Game! You’ve been chosen to fight for your planet’s place in the Multiverse.

Lucas Altan and his friends are among the one-thousand people ripped out of Colorado and teleported to an alien planet. Lucas wakes up alone, with an overly friendly AI as his only companion. Game on.

Here, magic is real and the clock is ticking. The rules are simple: Find your team, then fight through four stages of monster-infested wilderness before time runs out. Fail, and you die . . . and condemn everyone on Earth too.

Lucas has done a lot of crazy things in his life, from fighting forest fires, to teaching skydiving, to starting an online company to hunt scammers. Now he finds he’s got a knack for killing monsters, winning unique loot, and surviving against long odds.

Wielding fast wits, cool spells, and a magical sword that can’t cut anything physical, he needs to level up faster than the odds stacking against him. Getting stronger is the only way to survive, save his friends, and not become that guy who let Earth die.

This fast-paced action fantasy litrpg adventure hurls Lucas into a crucible of combat, magic, and nonstop adventure. Perfect for fans of DCC and Primal Hunter.

I met Frank at Summer Con this year, and discovered his introduction into LitRPG,and holy cow! I'm blow away with how fantastic Nexus Runner has been so far! I'm 63 chapters in and still enjoying every second of it, it's hard to put down! It's an amazing balance of humor and story, and it excels with an interesting approach to the genre! Keep up the good work Frank!

I had this on my read later list for months. I shouldn't have waited. I binged through this in like 2 weeks and now I've only disappointed myself because I  have to wait for more chapters.
I'm enjoying the character development of the Mc, his friends, and the side characters.  I love the interaction between Mc and Cyrus. I'm into the staged battle world game show vibe as well as the hidden plots that are being revealed.
Don't be like me who waited to read, be like me who binged it all.

So far, so good only into chapter 4 will update score as I go. Seems like a unique lit RPG where the main character starts off very competent. I’m excited to see where it goes but for now am enjoying the ride, talking about rides it seems the author loves motorcycles which seems worth mentioning

Not sure how I encountered this one, but the synopsis was head and shoulders above the previous few I’d read so decided to give it a go. Very glad I did. It’s not perfect, but it’s still a really good story and pretty well written.
    I’d definitely recommend reading this.

Not many stories on RR are as good as this one. The system integration is satisfying and shows how humans unique creativity and individuality interacts with a cosmic structure.
The main character has clear motivation and values and a good bit of luck without great loot drops feeling to forced.
There is also a large cast of interesting characters that you can feel have thier own stories and lives running paralel with the main characters story which offers a saitisfying feeling of depth.

Read uptill Chapter 105 when I read Frank's request for a favor. Thus I'm doing my little bit to balance out.
The pace is lovely and all the movie references make this a joyride. I already love a few side characters apart from the MC and to me that makes the story really engrossing.
Keep up the great work bud, love the story so far.

A good story, I really like the humorous aspects of it and the clear timelimit imposed on the Game part of the story makes me believe that there will be some awesome world building later on. I would normally rate it 4.5, since there were a bit too many 'lucky encounters' early to give the MC advantages for my tastes, but the story provides appropriate challenges for it, so I'm optimistic it was more used to establish the later plot then to just make Lucas OP.

So far it has a well-built story and an overall goal for the MC. it's been an entertaining read and that's hard to find. The MC is not dumb which is always a good thing. The system is well thought out and a has a great personality.
    Read it its good!

The ideas are good for a litRPG but Idk if it's me but I feel like there is a slight lack of coherence between certain things and I don't like the AI Cyrus so yeah. But otherwise it's good. Also the way he reacts to others people underestimating him is kinda annoying.

There are some mild spoilers in this review but it’s necessary to describe things that you might find off putting.
    Things not to like:
The MC is a doormat - a people pleaser - and every woman he meets is gorgeous and makes him feel funny that he has to really think about all of these strange desires he’s feeling all of a sudden.
The stats don’t seem to mean anything. For example: he solo fights some monsters in the first book and does well against them. Then much later he fights the same enemies (who have not leveled up) while being at least five times stronger than he was before and yet has a very hard time with it.
The rewarded experience doesn’t matter. He only gets level ups when the AI thinks he did something cool, regardless of how many high level enemies he kills. This only applies to him and none of the other characters. This is basically antithetical to progression fantasy: that work and planning doesn’t matter, only cool moves do.
The MC has no agency. He consistently gets railroaded into encounters that he bumbles through like Mr. Magoo, surviving via plot armor instead of his wits or preparation.
The MC is an idiot. He gets all kinds of loot, spells, and abilities. But he almost never remembers to use any of it. Even a cool item he got 2 minutes before a fight that would save everyone in the fight goes forgotten. And of this is all on top of the fact that his intelligence is repeatedly and unironically touted as “insanely high.”
The author really likes to give him things and then take them away. He consistently loses all of his best stuff, and things taken away rarely get replaced.
A good portion of his loot is stuff that he gives to his friends or random people. Nobody ever hands him anything, though.
The other characters are either comically unobservant or selfish. When he survives an encounter that trashes all of his clothes and he really needs a pair of shoes the 20 people he’s given things to (including multiple pairs of magic shoes) don’t notice or
