Neverending Story: The Hero Wasted His Power and Failed The World

Simple, guy gets sent to another world in however which way.

He gets a mental message saying he gots a power and is given no direction on what he should do next.

Simple, right?

Well, when he opens his eyes he wakes up in a forest and proceeds to spend his time thinking of his past.
