Description

Grey hated the pokémon franchise. What was all the fuss about? Years since he last played, he mostly forgot about it. But the universe loved irony more than vanity. One day, enraged by his abusive step father for the last time, he snapped. But inches before he drove the knife in, Grey died. Just like that. Only to awaken in a world filled with familiar creatures, ruefully ignorant.

I have never read more tan 6 chapters of pokemon ff. But this is briliant! On technical side story flow is nice and witchout anything to dig out your eyeballs. Charakters are deep and interesing. As the story goes on, the characters progress and grow as a reall beinngs. This hooked me instantly. MC sometimes looks like hurt emo kid but it is passable. For someone like me who wasnt deep in pokemon stuff it is friendlyto read. I like crossover elements which are placed in good places, it dosnt look like just hammered witchout thinking. Overall if somone like mature, dark, litle psyhological, rational and with pokemon like humans, I say give it a shot.

This story is already up there for me. Finding good novels about pokemon are hard to find. I've read my share of them, and the number of times I've been dissapointed are inumerable. That's why I'm so hyped to have come across this. The high quality, and length of chapters reminds me of borne of caution and borne of desire. 2 other great and well known pokemon novels. If you're a fan of those 2, you'll probably enjoy this as well.
In this story we have pokemon that aren't just pets, but are actual characters, and as complex as humans. We can hear them talk in words through the pov of the main character who has the sweet ability to understand pokemon.
The fights in this are also a lot of fun to read through. I've seen plenty of others that make you just skip the fight scenes as they are boring and extremely predictable, but the fight scenes in this are actually exciting
Our mc and some of his partners have dark pasts, so it's not all sunshine and rainbows. While there are wholesome scenes, the story also has seriousness to it.
You can just really tell that the author is passionate about their writing. There's a lot of effort put into every chapter, and well thought out author notes. It's great to see. I highly recomend this!

Before I begin, please note that this Pokemon fanfic delves into some rather bleak territory, which may not be everyone's cup of tea.
    SPOILER ALERT, HEED MY WORDS
    Characters
The characters are crafted with care, complete with flaws, motivations, and dilemmas. This applies not only to the humans but to the Pokemon as well. However, the protagonist leaves me somewhat perplexed. Although we are a good thirteen chapters into the story, the author has yet to shed much light on the MC's background. We know he's a 24-year-old with a tragic past, namely an abusive stepfather, but the story hints that his history runs even darker. There's a curious contradiction here: on the one hand, he is purported to have military experience and to be skilled in advanced martial arts, capable of subduing a Machoke with only two knives and a hint of psychic prowess (though the latter's effectiveness remains in question), yet on the other, he comes across as quite brooding and somewhat over the top. If the author intends to make these two threads cohere in a satisfying way, they'll need to devote more attention to fleshing out the protagonist's past, otherwise, he may simply come off as an edgelord.
    Grammar
In terms of grammar, there were a few minor errors, but nothing too egregious.
    Pacing
As for pacing, it's a tad slow, but the author's intent to switch to shorter chapters may help rectify this. On a separate note, I found the author's fluid style of shifting POVs between the MC and the Pokemon quite vexing. One moment we're in the protagonist's head, the next we're privy to the thoughts of his trusty Pokemon. While I appreciate the author's experimentation with this technique, I feel it needs a little more refinement to work effectively.
    Battles
The battles are skillfully executed, with the author providing helpful notes to justify the tactics and moves employed.
    Plot
As for the plot, it takes a decidedly darker turn than your average Pokemon fanfic, which may not appeal to everyone. Ne
