Jake is a fifteen year old foster kid living in a group home in western Pennsylvania. He’s jaded and angry, but he still cares about his two younger friends, Alex and Sarah. After they find a giant old man dying in a downed spacecraft, shared dreams and strange voices fill their heads. They realize they have been drafted to complete the old man’s final mission. To start a galactic rebellion.
Jake isn’t about to let anyone control him. Even as he and his friends liberate a group of giants imprisoned under a mountain, he fights the alien influence in his head. He won’t trust these new giants. But he can’t resist the chance of a lifetime. They’re going to space! From an abandoned satellite to captured alien planets, he and his friends follow the clues the old man left them. Each step forward is another step further from Earth. And soon, Jake realizes that he and his friends should have been more careful. The giants are hiding things. The enemy, a galactic empire, is hunting for them. Jake needs to find a way back to Earth, before it’s too late.

- JX1089Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I deeply enjoyed reading the book. Thoughtfully written, it successfully told a fascinating story that has a lot of potential for sequels. The philosophical questions posed by the story provided penetrating insights and made it so much more than a recreational read. I look forward to reading more about Alex and Sarah (and Jake, of course) in your future books. Thank you!
