Description
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted.
Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life?
Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man.
Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about?
A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he?
Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.

- 1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like the premise, it's a very unique take on vampirism. I like the main character, he comes off as sympathetic, thrust into a surreal situation and forced to become a pawn in a dangerous game. And of course, there is tension, in the form of a vampire hunter, who knows that someone just got turned into a vampire, and wants to shoot them.
- MikFlandersRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’ve currently read up to chapter four, and to be honest, this is one of the only works of fiction where I’ve been genuinely excited to read further.
I love the premise: it’s still a slice of life type story, yet it has an important fictional addition. Vampires. Vampires don’t tend to interest me but the vampires in this story seem extremely interesting. They’re not OP to a stupid degree.
The characters are lovely and I can’t wait to see what they’re going to do next. Luis is relatable and he’s just awful enough to be a good MC without it being too much. The way the characters interact with each other is believable. The tension and ‘horror’ aspect is written in a way where it genuinely brings fear to me. It’s not overdone and it’s not too dramatic, yet it’s nice and subtle at times. Perfect pacing, time-wise.
And then, my favourite part: the inner monologue. It’s in first person POV and you absolutely KILLED it. I often stopped reading just to take in the fenomenal writing. You write in a way that is so lovely to read. It’s SO lively. Genuinely recommend this story for the way it is written alone. Amazing story, well made characters, amazing writing, and the world building (so far) is extremely compelling and interesting. I literally couldn’t give you feedback if I tried. There’s nothing that I would want changed to this story.
Well, except for the part that it’s still unfinished. But I will wait content, since I thoroughly enjoy reading this. - UsernameUsernameUsernameRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hello mr. Author man,
It is i, the memster goose, here to review your newest work.
So, initial impression is very good, grammar and spelling very good as always.
Characters just feel very ,,real" and interactions are believable, as well as in Character as far as i can see.
The set up for what i belive to be vampire business is a classic wrong time, wrong place scenario, complete with vampire hunter dude who will either be the bbeg or become a companion later down the road.
All in all : he's done it again! Good start man keep it up.
