Koektrommel has a great way of building immersive and interesting worlds.
Takes all the best of fantasy and adds just a little extra to make reading it interesting and feel like a new experience. The characters also feel realistic with thought out motives.
wish he gave me a writers credit tho...

This crap was so good, I loved reading it. Five stars isn’t enough.
The writing was so good, I got sucked into this fantasy world. I felt like I lived in The Eigth Empire
I can’t wait to read more from this writer and would love seeing more of his work

An immersive story from an excellent author. Very few stories can really grip you and pull you into their world, but Koektrommel managed to create a whimsical world that really sucks you into it. The writing itself is masterful, the story is well written and doesn't break the emersion with odd word choices or anything. This is a must read for lovers of fantasy adventure books!

At the time of writing this review I am somewhere near the halfway point of the story. I would imagine the remainder of the story is of similar quality, but even without that I have thoroughly enjoyed the first chapters. I initially stumbled upon this story and decided to give it a go due to its interesting setting. After reading one chapter I was hooked. The characters are realistic and complex, which is more than I can say for many of the other stories I have read. What Koektrommel does especially well is make everything feel grounded and immersive, as though you are reading a historical account rather than a fantastical story.
