My Sons and I Got Isekai’d To The Losing Goblin Side
Community Rating
Description
Imagine dying with your sons and some of their friends on Earth and waking up in a new world. You have seen the anime. You read the manga. Time to be a butt-kicking hero right?
Except when Phillip and his twin boys died in a shooting, they woke up with two other friends in a new world, but as goblins. The world is brutal, and every hero is out to destroy the goblin and orc races. Zolb (Phillip) will risk everything to save his boys. There are no menus or guides on how to grow stronger. Just surviving seems impossible enough. Can they survive and get stronger, or will they die as quickly as their two friends did on the first day?
Follow the journey as they learn how to use the knowledge they have from their world in this new one and gain the strength to live another day.

This book will have some 'fun' swearing but I will try to keep it clean for the most part. There will be no harems (but jokes about it) and anything sexual will be kept to a minimum (think talking about boobs or man-size but nothing more than that). This is a story I came up with (along with my other series) and have told some of my kids (6 kids) as we watch anime and read books together.
Check out myDragon Riderstory if you want!
Book 2 for this Goblin Story is slated for chapters around January!

- H0stRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0They're goblins, and just like the creatures themselves, their lives aren't pretty. Expect a lot of blood, sweat, and other bodily fluids. If you're okay with being brutal in order to survive, inventive swearing, and the occasional eating of your foes’ hearts in order to become stronger, take a read, you'll be able to tell if it's for you within 2-3 chapters, the story does not meander around too much, it gets to the point pretty fast.
And what’s all the bloody struggle for? That’s the other unusual aspect of this story: the main character is a dad, reincarnated as a goblin, together with his two sons after their particularly sudden and violent death, doing everything he can to keep them alive.
Characters are strongly defined, there’s no doubting who is who once you learn enough about them. Even if that means you will hate their guts.
The setting and style is bleak, which is to be expected from a goblin world, but it gets points for being unusual. Human perspectives of slaying goblins there’s plenty of, but goblin points of view? A little less so.
Grammar could use an editorial pass or two. Nothing that breaks the ability to read the story, but mostly some punctuation issues, and a typo here and there. There are also some cases of repetition of words, but if we look at this as a non-final version, a sort of first draft, it’s acceptable, and can be refined later.
All in all, if you’re not too squeamish about violence, and are into reading about goblins without them either being the fodder for a human MC, or somehow just turned into green-skinned civilized humans in everything but name, give it a go, the actual story content does the objective: be entertaining. - Lucian T. EinarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story offers a unique perspective in the isekai genre, focusing on goblins rather than the usual human or elf protagonists. The story explores dark themes and features a father and his two sons navigating their new goblin lives.
Style: The writing style is engaging and strikes a balance between fun and dark tones. The author effectively conveys the goblin world and the struggles faced by the characters.
Story: The story stands out with its unconventional take on isekai, following goblins as they fight for survival against other races. The father-son element adds depth and complexity, as the main character must balance his love for his children with the brutal actions necessary to protect them. The plot has potential and leaves readers intrigued about the direction it will take.
Grammar: While the writing is generally solid, there are occasional errors in grammar and punctuation as mentioned in the comments. These do not significantly impact the readability of the story, but some editing would enhance the overall quality. And the author seems to be over them fixing as many things as possible! I particularly didn't find anything wrong. Kudos to the author for being very receptive to the feedback.
Character: The characters are well-defined, and their motivations and actions are clear. The father's struggle to protect his sons adds depth to his character, although some readers may find his actions and decisions disturbing. The sons' roles in the story could be further developed to give them more agency and impact.
Overall:
Now, our father is a true villainous character. Despite his love for his sons, his inner monster remains unchanged. So those who enjoy wicked antagonists will find joy in reading about him.
For fans of villainous leads, goblins, bloodshed, cannibalism, strategic battles, deceit, butchering, and whatnot, and father and sons in violent acts, this story will be right up your alley.
However, for those who anticipated a tale of a father and his sons a - MozgovedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Rare gem in the mountains of local trash. A wholesome story of goblins on the path of redemption against the evil of elves and dwarves and their generational genocide of greenskins.
Has magic, action combat, item drops, dungeon delves, boss fights, goblin sex scenes, all kinds of good stuff!
For the 40 chapters we have on hand the meta-plot moves extremely smooth and is extremely invitable to fresh readers.
Highly recommended.
Isekai component like totally forced and inconsequential, may safely be ignored. - SchusfusterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Everything he writes so far is right up my alley. There's an easy energy and flow to what he creates that's really pleasing.
A story of Isekai for world balance, this rides the vibe of a lot of current light novels where humans are a plague upon the world that must be curtailed for the good of all. Excellent character development, world building, strategy, plotting.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. - murderRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0there are things in this story that it doesn't feel the characters take seriously enough. The reveal that their entire current world is a game, for example, or the whiplash of the MCs experiencing abject horror at what they are becoming, followed immediately by their gleeful embracing of their circumstances.
Nonetheless, it is a very enjoyable read so far, and I look forward to future updates, which will hopefully come. - nrober19Royal Road★★★★ 4.0I think the concept is really cool, a family being Isekai'd instead of just an individual and the bond between the dad and his kids is really enjoyable to read. There are a few things im not sure how i feel about yet however. The fact that it seems many others have come to this new world as well and are still around is both somewhat dissapointing but also exciting. It could go either way depending on how the author executes it but we haven't seen enough to judge it properly yet.
My main gripe so far is that they seem to get OP extremely quickly. In 1 or 2 chapters they go from some of the weakest goblins in the whole tribe who get by using their higher intelligence in hunts, to being simply the strongest in every way just becausee they are transmigrators and therefore grow extremeely fast and without limit apparently. I think this definitely could have used some slower pacing, or at least some small timeskips to give us hope that they aren't immediately going to become some of the strongest beings in the world in the next 10 chapters. - The Dreamer.Royal Road★★★★ 4.0I was so surprised when the power system revolved around munching on hearts but its original and im grateful for it. This book is a grim reality on goblin settlements and happenings. The vulgar slang is the best however, dwarves arse being my favirote right now. Just hoping that the author can break up flashbacks a lil bit as the jump between them and present day wasnt that clean. Also slow down the pacing and more description on the growth aspects on heart usage. Other than that amazing novel. Hidden gem for sure
- KptnRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I am a sucker for non-human characters and goblins are one of the more fun ones in my opinion. I don‘t like the litRPG trope of stats and systems, which this story fortunately does not have. So my expectations where high.
Maybe those expectations were the problem, as this story did not do it for me. I loved the concept of every race having a substance that makes them stronger if consumed. It makes for a fun premise and raises stakes, as allocation of ressources and -slight spoiler- was the reason why other races could stop goblins from accessing them, hindering their growth and prosperity.
Full spoilers from now on:
I dropped this for now however, as I just cannot get over some things. The characters switch from full gobbo mode to humanists too quick and irrational. It is too quick at other points as well, even if the champions are meant to be special, everything just happens a little bit too convenient and fast. I also strongly dislike the god aspect, it is honestly unnecessary and takes away from the rest of the story. There is no real reason for summoning the main character by goblin god other than history exposition. But hey, the two dead isekai soccerplayers are fine, god said so. I also get a weird feeling this is a bit if a self-insert, which, together with the constant description on how the father shows his sons his own genitalia or looks at theirs, makes it a bit awkward.
Tl;dr: Too fast paced gobbo adventure, with semi-believable characters, a rather straight-forward story and weird interaction. An unfair comparison, but read the Iron Teeth series instead, if you haven‘t already. - Hibyehi76Royal Road★ 1.0So to start off with It goes over the top in gore and nsfw elements
it is passable in terms of combat and style
the story is bad to say the least the least
Style passable and mediocre
Story
so the gods created 5 races and had them fight each other humans elf’s and dwarfs on one side and goblins and orcs on the other
and the orcs started losing the war the humans tried for peace a few times but the goblins always go on killing sprees and betray the humans
so the humans decide to wipe them out
it’s this fact that the main character whines about for 2/3 of the book this makes him rather unlikeable
Speaking of character
Character
the main character was human and is now a goblin and the author handles this change terribly there is nothing in the book that says when isekaid peoples morals change but the main character is fine committing genocide, rape, murder and torture involving skinning a person alive and then detailing how they eat him alive
and these things are fine for a villain mc to have but the reasons are really weak
it feels like when this guy came to this world he was already dahmer
also he has kid but there characters are so boring and weak that I struggle to care if they die
Overall it’s bad gory and boring
Grammar it’s ok nothing too bad. Some minor spelling errors here and there
