I would give this 4 stars if not compensating for other reviewers.
The main character is less stupid than in many other stories and thinks logically about survival. More realistic than many other stories. The story is slow paced. So far he has only met one other person. There hasn't been much combat.
This story was inspired by another story (mentioned in the first chapter). The other story is much more fast paced and stupid. For example in the other story the MC eats the leaves of random plants to check if they are poisonous...

    ★★★ 2.5
Stylisticaly, the story is not good. Its exactly the sort of wandering writting you might already know from japanese light novels. Using The authors own words, 'somethign on the level of a middle school creative writting project'. It is flowery though.
That is the first point against this, ElephantOnMyBack seems to equate highly ornamented writing to 'mature' writting. The problem is that at least nin the first two chapters, any under lying substance seems to be lacking.
Related pragraphs stick together while the MCs thoughts run a mile a minute lacking any level of composure. That lack of composure could be apropriate to the story, but it feels more like an aspect of the writting that will persist into later chapters.
You will know from chapter one if this is a story you can enjoy reading. For me there isn't anythign of substance to show in the first two chapters, something that isn't neccesarily good or bad, but wiht a style of writtign i find offputting, I can only recomend this if you are okay with that style.
For the rest? 2.5 no real opinion. Take it or leave it.
