TL note: Some of you may be wondering why I am translating a story written originally in English, to English. I remember reading this story many years ago, as a teen, and had since dismissed it as a bizarre fever dream. Only recently, through much Googling, did I manage to rediscover it, and as such decided to not only read it again, but fix the author’s many typing issues and share the context of what I remember from its original happening. I believe the story underneath to hold deeper meanings than its strange happenings, but at minimum I hope you will appreciate it for the sheer weirdness of it all. For the best experience, skim it for your first reading and, if you are interested, read more deeply the second time. Some typing is left as-is to preserve what I believe to be authorial intent, or at least necessary effect. If you notice any typing issues I managed to miss, please email them to me at[email protected]

I've read five chapters of this book and the room is spinning.  I'm not sure if it's original, translated, satire or genuine.  All I know is that it has made me put my own writing and attempts to convey plot points and emotion into perspective.
    To quote Percy Shelley:
“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
    The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
    My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!”

This is perhaps the best-translated novel I have read on Royal Road. The only thing that could make it better? A T/N note explaining O-hi-O, I will settle for a T/N: Keikaku means plans as well.
I look forward to reading other works and translation of famous works like Ookami to Kyoushinrou (English version)'s translation, or Oregairy (eng) version's Translation, all brilliant works.
All in all, worthy of 5/5

A doomed translation of a text once lost to the failing geriatric bowels of the internet, my first story ^U^ appears to be the first and final voyage of a sinking ship. But much like the aforementioned Titanic, this author's maiden voyage has a powerful and chequered history of infamy. What at first appears to be jumbled, meandering prose, shallow characterisation and critical misunderstandings about economics in reality hides a complex metaphorical narrative packed with rich symbolism weaving in and out of the interwoven threads of the story and beyond, eventually escaping off the page and into the author's bizarre and tumultuous descent into real-life degeneracy.
The text demands to be read as an intersectional commentary on cultural anthropology. my first story is a modern-day Ulysses, an avant-garde work of genius decades ahead of its time, blending the cultural ethos of the internet age with references of works of classic literature and pop culture alike with bold and powerful genre-breaking leaps. Intrepid and adventurous, the original text blazes its fearless trail into deep philosophical political and religious statements of the modern zeitgeist, molded like permanently-refrigerated butter from the contemporary discourse of the historical era, and framed in the kind of satirical verse essayists can spend entire volumes of work debating for generations to come. Truly one of the great classics of our age.
Not for the faint of heart, the translation notes nevertheless provide some helpful insight into deciphering references and timestamps for the unenlightened reader. Although be advised - some work will still be required to fully make sense of its complex themes and interlocking connections. The prose is rife with isms; each character an individual representation of a different aspect of the author's warring internal struggles. We are never quite sure if we are ceasing the seizing of the means of production, for instance, or simply seizuring. But we feel the a

Well, this is a first for my reading on Royal Road: a translated story.
I gotta say, it's pretty good if unexpected. The story is about the main character, anime Ayn Rand in her noble quest to defeat furries and communism. The TL notes really add a lot of insight to this piece. So let's dive in, shall we?
    Style
The style is the best on royal road. Bar none. It really helps with the immersion. Meta-immersion if you will. The style not only brings you into the story, but really mimics the experience of reading the story in its original form.
I honestly felt like I was back in 2006, reading an original fiction on a message board in a dully lit basement while receiving yaoi paddle jpgs on my dell laptop. Great stuff. Kudos to the translator for this.
    Grammar
The grammer is impeccable. Remember, this is a translated story and the translator has done an excellent job translating the grammar structures of the story's original language: English.
    Story
Eat your heart out, Tolkien, this truly is a story that shines thanks to the translator's modifications to the original prose. Top score!
    Character
The characters are translated beautifully, all their original cultural idyosyncrassies  are on display here, and perfectly translated from English to English.
    Conclusion
This is one of the most skilled translations I have ever read. I can't wait to see if the translator tackles other stories from this language, like Chronicles of Narnia or the Bible.
    Excellent job.
    ...
Oh right, and as for the original story itself?
    Not good.
    .5/5
EDIT: I changed my mind, it's great. 5/5

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an "L" on her forehead
Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do, so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets?
You'll never know if you don't go
You'll never shine if you don't glow
Hey, now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey, now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
It's a cool place and they say it gets colder
You're bundled up now wait 'til you get older
But the meteor men beg to differ
Judging by the hole in the satellite picture
The ice we skate is getting pretty thin
The water's getting warm so you might as well swim
My world's on fire. How about yours?
That's the way I like it and I'll never get bored
Hey, now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey, now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
    Go for the moon
    Go for the moon
    Go for the moon
    Go for the moon
Hey, now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey, now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
    Only shooting stars
Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas
I need to get myself away from this place
I said yep, what a concept
I could use a little fuel myself
And we could all use a little change
Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do, so much to see
