Description

Familiar, a magical creature of any kind that a mage channels mana through to perform magic or tasks. Familiars are all different and each mage can have only 1 and it can only be summoned in Magic Academy due to the preparation for this being in these locations.The age that these students obtain this is when they start their second year in the magic academy. The first year was purely to teach the students how to gather mana and improve their capacity as well as to weed out those without talent for gathering mana. The entire year teaches the students breathing techniques, meditation and teaches the basis of how magic works.

Our story starts with a young man that summons the most uncommon Demon, the imp or so called the Ash Golem.

Hi ppl, new and very advanced story as well as one i will publish. I won't release many chapters of this one so it is more a teaser.

i read all the reviews and I must say that I am disappointed with the reviews! This was a fantastic story it leaves so much room for to build upon to include all the action wrapped up with a succubus who has a dark sense of humor. This is like your average anime but in book format I loved this story and I am not disappointed; if you are gonna read this series please listen to the story and don't worry about the plot. Like Oliver Twist says "Please Sir! Can I have more!" Can't wait for book 3!!

The history so far its very pleasing, it has a little bit of everything and its built on a world were "summoning" its a kind of status and power significance. Contrary to many monster summoning histories its rather likable and the idea of training and evolving your summons its a novelty (rather than summoning one that will define you for all your life)
It has a great prospect for being a long novel with many books and its one of my favorites so far. I hope to se more of it.

The story so far is pleasing, and the characters are mostly beliveable with only minor levels of cartoonishness for your background and/or agressor characters. IE the nobleborn bullys, the new holier than thou acadamey students, and some of the supportstaff at xero's school.

when i first started reading this book i felt it had a lot of potential. especialy since this is from the same auther as Clockwork. the world building is great, the familier system is interesting, and the main character was a hardworking likeable protagonist. i couldnt find anything i didnt like about it at first either and was genuainly exited to see where it would go. that is untill everything stared to crash and burn in chapter 12. that is the real turning point in my opinion

up until chapter 12 the mc's familior was a humanoid ash golem aka imp. i thought it was cool how as the chapters progressed the imp would modify itself to be more human and thought it would be cool if he became more inteligent and become more of a partner/frend insted of just a convenient tool that fallows orders real well... too bad for me half of those thing came true but in the worst and most anoying way possable. HE became a SHE... i would have been fine with that if she wasnt so God danm anoying and obsest with the mc. I was looking forward to the imp slowly gaining sentience and developing trust and frenship with mc... but insted BOOM female she daemon with op powers that looks like a little girl but want to share a bed with mc. it was realy sudden too...not time to ajust and see her start to develop feelings. NO! she went strate from slightly intelegent imp tool to lustful loli badass. i didnt like it at all. but was hopeful that she would grow on me. she didnt...
the only redeamable characters in this novel are the mc: hes not bad, his actions make sence for the most part and he works hard to better himself and his familier.
his father and eldest brother: they become more important in book 2 and i like how hardworking and loyal they are to their wives

Wow I'm very disappointed in the way this turned out. Went from an 8 to a 1 in one chapter. I get sick of wish fulfillment story's that I got literally angry when ash turned out to be a girl. I guess I'll be dropping this due to the hatred I have for slave girls that want to do the mc.

As with most stories like this, they generally have good world building. However, the familliar's random evolution and character shift was largely unexpected and the story changes way too fast from an underdog story to another generic power fantasy. The title does not even make much sense anymore. The narrarator is also wholly unreliable and follows/fleshes out other characters mch more than the main character. The main character now is more of a plot device and moves the story forward while the side characters are slightly more interesting(even if they're cliched). When side characters take more space than the main character, those side characters diminish the feeling of relating to the MC as they become more unrelatable. The main problem of this novel is that we only see glimpses of the main character's motivation. In turn, it dulls the story outside of the constant powerups that move the plot along.
As for the grammar, I am assuming that the writer's native language is not English and an editor/proofreader would help a bit. The syntax is simple so its not that hard to lose the original meaning.
The only good aspect of the novel is the background power politics and the world buliding alongside the power system. I enjoy stories like this and am a patient person but, the tone shift from dark to lighthearted is completely unexpected and losing readers over that is a high possibility. I recommend a rewrite of the first chapters to include some foreshadowing and to change the tone into something more fitting.
