Murder Game [High Fantasy/Revenge Progression]

Description
Murder Game: A guy with a miserable life somehow finds himself working with some of the worst criminals in the US...How fun?
Meet Nathan Hayes, a guy who constantly gets framed for crimes he's never done, vilifying him in society. The only thing that kept Nathan on the right path was his only friend, Lilith. But what if he was put in a situation where he could no longer stay innocent though?
In a tragic turn of events, Nathan found himself partnering up with serial killers, terrorists, and cult leaders, all to be used as game characters for an individual who wants nothing more than destruction.
This mastermind thinks it's all a game, even giving Nathan and his 'team' non-playable characters (NPCs). Pretending to be an NPC sounds fun...until you accidentally trigger a war.
What to expect?
1. Weak to strong protagonist
2. Lots of betrayal and revenge
3. Heavy action
4. Bit of romance
"Here I was trying to find an MC that was a villain/anti-hero, Upon stumbling across this novel, I checked it out to see if it was a good read, and oh boy was I thrilled while reading." Words from a faithful reader review.

- Edge ValmondRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story:
It starts off a bit more simple, with things with Nathan being good. It would quickly get into a court scene, where he was accused of murder. Out of desperation, this would lead him to commit actual murder. The way the story is presented is fast pace, and really hammering in on the action. It gets more interesting, a while the way it is written can be simplistic, it does the job well.
Style:
If I gotta give something about it. It is in third person, and more high toned to say, I think that is the term. Anyway, it is easy to read and follow.
Grammar Score:
Didn't spot anything, this just means it is good enough. You'll be able to read it fine.
Characters:
For Nathan, you get a good grasp on him. His behavior no doubt portrays him as an Anti-hero, and the story does well to show this based on his actions. Such as the thing that happened in court, and the whole scene afterwards.
Overall:
It is a good story, but I would recommend fleshing out the scenes more. It felt a bit too fast paced, but this did not take out of the experience much. I'd say with a bit more, it'll be fine. Nonetheless, it was a good read, and I can recommend it. So head on in, and find yourself a new world to get into. There is more to Nathan, and I think you'll find yourself going deeper into this work. - Eli'sPencilRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Grammar:
Firstly, good job with the grammar. I see people pointing out that there were some mistakes but I didn’t notice any. For me personally, grammar is the number one most important aspect of any story. If the grammar is bad, I will simply not touch it with a ten-foot pole. Like I said, the grammar isn't perfect and it's very simple, but I much prefer that over someone trying to write in a complex manner while having terrible, awful grammar.
Story:
The premise is very interesting and kept me engaged all the way through. I don't want to get too into the story and spoil it, but it's about a guy who gets framed for a murder he did not commit, which leads to a whole new adventure. The main character is basically given a second chance at life on this new adventure.
Style:
I’m not sure if it’s intentional but the main character is pretty funny and there are moments that made me laugh, but I think it’s just because the author’s writing style is sort of sporadic. However, their sporadic way of writing works perfectly with the tone of the story. It's definitely my favorite part.
Character
As I said earlier, the main character has a cool personality and he's pretty funny whether it be unintentional or not.
If I were to describe this story in one word, it would be “Fun”.
I’d recommend it. - JiodomRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Grammar: 4/5
Murder Game features a fluent narrative style, though it's interspersed with noticeable grammatical errors. These don't hinder understanding but a thorough polishing could enhance the reading experience significantly.
Style: 4.5/5
The narrative style is direct and to the point, which suits the dynamic and uncomplicated nature of Murder Game well. This approach is effective for a web novel that explores intense themes and unique characters. However, the imperfect grammar slightly limits the top score in this category.
Story: 5/5
The plot of Murder Game is original and engaging. The storyline unfolds coherently, with a series of unpredictable events keeping the reader's interest piqued. The inherent madness of the narrative adds to the unique and captivating atmosphere.
Characters: 5/5
Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Murder Game is the way characters are presented. Each character is well-defined, with distinctive traits reminiscent of the cast from Metal Gear Solid. Characters like Nathan, Ada, and Zack are depicted with controlled madness and depth, making them particularly interesting and enjoyable to follow.
Overall: 5/5
Overall, Murder Game offers an engaging and unusual reading experience. The combination of an original narrative, well-crafted characters, and a straightforward style makes this work a pleasant and intriguing read. - LostfreeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0the novel's initial chapters are a thrilling ride from the get-go. The story kicks off with a bang, offering a perfect blend of suspense and vivid imagery that keeps readers hooked. What sets this web series apart is its impeccable grammar, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable reading experience. Characters are well-crafted, and the world-building adds depth to the narrative. - Old-Tailed-FoxzRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Fantastic idea this has and it hits the write notes when it counts. The dialogue I think is the books strongest. I really got into the story because of the superb dialogue. The story is nothing to sneeze at it's pretty good to it has some room to grow but the author is new so won't harp to much on the negatives. Honestly stick with the story I'm positive it'll grow into something magical!

Keep in mind that this review is based solely on my opinion and you are free to disagree.
I have to say, I enjoyed this story more than I anticipated! Once the grammatical mistakes/errors are fixed and the style is worked on, this story will be great!
1) Story: at first, I thought this would just be one of those “Darwin's Game”/”Squid Game” type stories. And it was… but in a fun way. I found myself enjoying the story more than I expected. I was eager to read the next chapter and see what would happen. The story is definitely what the author focuses on the most, and it is, consequently, this novel’s strongest point.
2) Characters: I think that the main character has the potential to be great. However, I did not like how little attention was given to describing his feelings. I liked how he immediately accepted everything that was happening because it gave the story this dream-like quality; I think this is something that should be emphasized more because it would make the novel even more interesting. The introduction of other characters was very rushed; it was done in a matter-of-fact way, with the characters being reduced to a singular trait (e.g. the guy who likes fighting, the beautiful woman in a red dress, the psychopathic killer, etc.). I just wish that the characters were given more attention.
3) Style: I like the idea behind the prologue: it felt like watching an anime, with the scenes of the criminals being “collected” being intertwined with the present moment. However, I think that the execution of it was lacking a bit: the sentences were too simple for my liking and more informative than descriptive. This also goes for the rest of the novel as well. More emphasis was put on the dialogue, which was (mostly) nicely done and natural, than the narration done by the omniscient narrator. I like the dialogue, but I think that the parts told by the narrator should either be completely eliminated (I think this could be really interesting, though difficu - sdecRoyal Road★★ 2.0Unfortunately this reads like a TEXT Anime and not a book. The flow of the text is constantly interrupted, viewpoint changes all the time, the reactions of the characters is not at all consistent with how they are portrayed. Several of the characters are described as hardened criminals but seem to act as children while the MC is supposed to be innocent but behaves as a hardened criminal with no morals. I suppose it could be a good book but it does nothing for me and a lot of the action scenes lose all involvement for the reader because of this strange concept . I have a hard time identifying with any of the characters and have given up on this story because of that.
- FaercesRoyal Road★ 1.0This suffers very heavily from anime-syndrome, where the entire plot and story are written from the author's perspective of a kids cartoon show resulting in subpar characters, ideas, dialogue, and belief that the world they live truly exists around them. This might as well be just a poorly formatted comic book.
Additionally, just because something is said in all caps doesn't make it more emotionally impactful. I felt nothing throughout the dramatic chapters because was so poorly written.
The core story is good author, but it flails and flops in execution to a written medium. With a lot of fixing here and there, it would be a pretty solid read.
