One-sentence overview: An immersive story of a human turned pseudo-eldritch shapeshifter that might just go full murderhobo if she gets truly angry and/or hungry.
Plenty of reincarnation stories just give you "human in different body" without really changing how they interact with people (particularly allies) aside from a quirk or two. Vivienne, on the other hand, deals with drastically different instincts and a distinctly grayer moral compass, and it's made quite clear that this is her now; she's not merely getting weird intrusive thoughts she can simply shrug off. Her changes affect her decisions subtly enough that she often won't even notice it without outside prompting, and even then the realization won't bother her nearly as much as it would if she were still human. Overall it makes for an engaging character journey as she gets comfortable with her new self.
Grammar and style are of consistent quality throughout with only minor issues. Prepare to see her "grin widen" many dozens of times (though to be fair I can't really come up with a good way to rephrase that to minimize repetition), and for an occasional sense of deja vu ("didn't I already read about that two paragraphs ago?") that appears to be a result of editing multiple versions of a chapter together. Another editing pass with that in mind would probably be enough to justify those last half-stars, but regardless, the story is entirely comprehensible and nicely paced.
In case someone is worried about that Trigger Warning in the description, the topic is not treated in a disrespectful or dismissive manner. It also is not forced into the story in a heavy-handed way; I'd say only the most -phobic of folks would be irritated with it, but ultimately that'll be up to the individual to decide.
