Mother of Learning: Abyss of Time, a Fanfiction Continuation.

Description

This is a Fanfiction Continuation of nobody103's Alternate Universe story to his famous Mother of Learning series. I have asked for and recieved permission to write these fan fictions before embarking on this.

This series will specifically focus on the Abyss of Time alternate universe story, proceeding from where that one left off. The 1st chapter is really more of a forward, as well as a link to the AU chapter by nobody103 that was supposed to be a one-shot until I decided to write a chapter 2 for it and then run with it from there.

I do not own the intellectual property rights to the actual chapter 1 to this story, and therefore the link that I've included in my forward/version of chapter 1 is the only way you will have to see where this story actually starts.

They have been a lot more Edit suggestions than in most of the books I have read. The continuation of AU MoL has been great and I have been loveing this book. If you loved MoL as well as the short AU, I absolutely recommend you read this. I could't even tell that it was a fanfic at frst!
But the thing I love is this:
Everything was timed perfectly to start going down the very moment the withdraw of Quatach-Ichl’s men was complete, and in this manner all 3 legs of the invasion fell a week before the festival.
And yes the is a quote from the book.

This is a continuation of an AU chapter, and damn does it hold up. If you're a MoL fan, you definitely want to read this. It feels nearly like the real thing, and has fantastic writing better than 99% of other fanfiction.
I can't wait to see where this goes. Even by all the word count it already has, it's still solidly the first real non-crossover MoL fanfiction of any reasonable length. Must read, really well done. Do it.
Also, author, if you're somehow able to keep a weekly pace, or even an every three week pace like the original, that would be amazing to see.
    I can't wait for more.

I liked the direction this was headed in. When I'd read MoL I'd never thought of a greater time loop idea, so this was an interesting and refreshing way to revisit the time looping fun of the main series. Would love to read more.
These words are for the word count. Why do I need to be verbose when I could just be concise, huh Royal Road?

I loved both the original MoL and the AU chapter that inspired this fanfiction, so when I heard someone wrote a continuation to it I had to check it out. The last thing I expected was a work that rivaled the original in quality while staying quite faithful to it.
This story is unreasonably polished for a fanfic and does justice to the original in terms of characterization, tone, and even writing style. Heavy props to the author for giving me the chance to read another MoL.

Cool book, you sould read it. It's a good continuation of one the AU chapters of MoL by nobody103. I read all the AU chapters there great you sould allso read that. I can't tell it's a fic at all just by looking at the content.
Grammar is wrose than nobody103's story's by a lot. It was a nice book and I hope that you think the same.

The author has managed to perfectly capture the essence of what made MoL fun to read, it feels as if it's written by Nobody103 instead of being a fan fiction. My only complaint is that the chapters come out a bit slowly, but I know that writing can be a pain. Props to you Jemini.

This was a really well written FF that explored the idea that Zorian was in a layered world of multiple time loops. With a perspective of centuries, the full scope of Zrian's calculating nature and ability to still see others as capable people is explored. Unfortunate but the continuation of this series seems to have ended, as with all works, the author has moved on to better things.

Continuing an author's work so faithfully, especially when based on a single AU chapter requires great talent, and I'm dissapointed this was dropped. This is adapted so well, especially on the characterisation front and emulating the original author's style. Only 9 chapters leaves you pretty dissatisfied, but it's still worthy of a second read (in fact I'm probabilly going to do exactly that).
Anyways, thanks for the great read and hopefully you might return to this eventually.

I'll keep this short. I loved the original work and I'm super stoked someone was inspired to write a fan fiction continuation.
At a very high level, look and feel are very close to the original work. The choice of adding a Zach prospective is a little strange because almost the entirety of MoL is from Zorian's perspective outside of the 2 "mind prison" chapters and the brief Damian retrospective.
At first the change in perspective threw me off but I could see Zack as a great main character in future chapters. Would love to see his inner personality developed as much as Zorian's in MoL.

A lot of the writing style is very similar to the original MoL, which is great for someone looking for content right after finishing the original work. The progression we see in Zorian is very reasonable given the au - without question the most powerful human character, but nothing compared to a primordial - in short, about what one would expect. Zorian's character is also pretty accurate to the original au chapter, if a little less on-the-nose about his amorality.
there are A LOT of spelling errors. who cares?
