The Wildsrelentlesslyreclaim all things. Humanity shelters within their ever-dying cities. Mages create the only path forward.
Tala had to fight tooth and nail in the Magic Academy to forge a path to power that was her own. She knows it’s her duty to use that power to serve humanity, defending them against the creatures of the untamable wilds. However, she skipped a few steps in her education, like apprenticing to someone who actually knows what they’re doing.
Now, Tala has to balance learning as fast as she can with paying off the veritable mountain of debt the Magic Academy dropped on her shoulders for the opportunity; not to mention staying alive.
Even though she should only be a Mageling, the world considers her a Mage. Bless the stars she directed most of her magic toward survival.
This fiction contains violence and tense situations. It will reference adult topics but will not contain sex scenes nor overt delves into 'sex/sexuality in other worlds.'

- ShadyPopeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.05 stars for the interesting and original magic system. Wordbuilding in general also nice but would have to see more to decide whether it's as good as the magic system. Characters, style and humour felt good, definitely much better than the Royalroad average, things were told and not shown so I'm happy.
0 stars for making me wait for more chapters 3. I want to see what Talia will manage to make of herself in terms of her magics so GIVE MORE CHAPTERS :<. But don't push yoursef to the degree of lowering the quality. That's all from me for now, I gotta go and see If putting mercury from the thermometer in my eyeballs allows me to see magic. - BatCrazyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First off, let me preface this review by saying that the worldbuilding is absolutely incredible. There are no large info-dumps, and while it is a bit confusing at the beginning, the confusion fades as you are pulled in by the plot to keep reading. I would say the writing style and unique characters put it above the common books here on royalroad. All the different characters act and talk uniquely, all with different passions, goals, and ways of thinking. The plot really fits into the world that the author created. It's a great read and I definitely recommend it.
- BlackulahRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've enjoyed every aspect of this. World building, starting after the (usually obligatory) Magic School - fantastic. I like how she's progressively getting stronger, amd the character development we're seeing. All in all, love it. I just wanted to leave this review and express that. Didn't really have 50 words ready though, so excuse the waffling at the end here.
- mbrxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Really like the pacing and the slice of life way of writing this story. Got all the books (so far) om Amazon and the continued the story here. Relaxing to read it. Book 7 stood out a bit pacing wise but was great anyway, seems like the continued story here on RR is at the point where i am now a bit more similar to the first 6 books -- which is exactly what i'm looking for.
- CiaranXRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I found this story on Amazon and was instantly hooked. This is the exact kind of story that I love to read. I was disappointed when I reached the 8th book thinking that was the end. I then found Royal Road and many more chapters! I am very happy. :D
- DragonightmareRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0if you like storys with magic that has solid rules and structures of how it works but still has some vauge aspects so it still feels like magic and good world building and well written charactars who grow as people over time you will like this. if you like mc's that are smart and creative but are most certinally not perfect people and have there own flaws and issues who makes the ocasinal mistakes and grow as the story progresses you will like this story. all in all this was the kind of story i look for and am glad i found it. though too be fair i have to give a few complaints. 1 she keeps making risky desicions on a whim and never seems to suffer consiquences for them though people in the story bring this up too so im expecting the hammer to drop at some point. also the fact that there are so many mages with magic sight means it is kind of stupid none of the mages figured out that there is a group feeding arcane meat too people and put a stop too it. that and variouse other oversights these people who are supposed to be super intelligent who can live for hundreds and for some thousands of years does not make sense too me. though looking at how dense people in the real world can be its not intirely impossible just unlikely
- EduardoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I started reading in Kindle Unlimited and now am following here. This series gave me three very enjoyable weeks of reading.
The mc is resourceful, the setting well made and the flow of the history good, with a good mixture between action and slice of life in a fantasy world. - SilchaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0One of the first fictions I started following week to week, it’s been great following Tala from mageling to where she is now. It’s also been great to watch her grow and mature as a person as well as getting stronger, which is a rarity in many progression stories. The world and power system is really cool as well, and has only become more interesting over time as we’ve learnt more about it.
- JcW SweRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I just binged this, and it's really really good!
The grammar, worldbuilding and character development is great. The story is about a young girl, freshly out of a magical academy and starting her career in the magical community. Sure, her power up is realatively quick. I usually like it to take a bit longer in stories to make it more believable, even though the MC in these kind of stories need to be better than average to make it enjoyable. Even so, the power up might still not be as OP too quickly by how dangerous her world she lives in seem to be.
I'm mostly saddened I caught up in the story and need to wait for every chapter to come out. I don't have much critique to give, neither constructive or otherwise. I just hope the author keep on posting, make some tweaks here and there (if they feel it's needed), and thereafter publish it. Because this story is publishworthy for sure.
Sorry I don't have much feedback to give at this moment but thanks to the author for posting this story on RR! - JutsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Really interesting premise, with a cool magic system and progression. There are some infodumps but they're interesting and conversational. Really like this one so far. Chapters are coming out extremely fast for the quality of the writing.
If you enjoy interesting world building, the world here is pretty unique, and now that some of the history has been explained its only getting better.
