- no1unoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Jasmine is a great character, story is good so far, increadibly unique take on superpowers. Cant wait until i read to the end and see Jasmine meeting Arceus
Sous you are a real artist. I cried when beldum sacrificed themself to save Jasmine.
Seeing her journey is eye oppening how one person can live with that much knowledge, shes the real shard thats for sure. - KalashRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5So I found this via the writhaton list and I usually don't review anything so bear with me here as I go through each category
Style
The prose for this book is rather simple, but effective. The author doesn't use much complicated words, and I noticed a significant improvement as the story goes on, so that's a plus. As an example, they go much more in depth with describing things in later chapters and it makes it easier to imagine the environment the characters are in. The few fight scenes we've seen so far are good and well described, and they don't drag on for too long.
I still think this is the weakest part of the book, although I may revisit this score if the author keeps improving.
Grammar
I've noticed 0 grammatical mistakes so far, so no issues here.
Story
Now we get into the real unique part of this book. We follow Jasmine, our main character who's been kidnapped by the government who wants to use her powers for their gain (from what I understand). Contrary to most superpower stories out there, the metahumans, as these individuals are called, are hated in wider society for some reasons that have been hinted at but not explained. I don't want to spoil too much, so I'll leave it here, although I do have one issue.
I feel like metahumans would have been able to retaliate against the genocide that King Carl ordered? They have superpowers!
Characters
This sections caries the book hard for me. There are four main characters: Jasmine, Franz, Veronica and Agnes. Each one of them feels distinct. They have flaws, aspirations, goals. The dialogue is the best part of the book and they actually speak like real human beings, thank god. Women are treated like real characters, which is more than I can say for quite a few books on this website. As for the secondary characters that we've seen so far, I'd say they're pretty good, even if they can't be as fleshed out as our main cast.
Overall
I definitely recommend this book, because it's pretty damn good. It isn't the best on the - LivingEpistleRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Alrighy, i gotta say...........been reading through these first chapters and I believe this book has the potential to rank at the top. The author doesn't use overly complicated wording and phrasing which draws me into the book more. The pacing is just right. Not to fast not to slow. And the way he describes expressions makes it vivid enough for me to imagine along.
- ZekeRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Well written. World building seems good so far and the plot is... interesting i think is a good decription.
But i cant help but want to beat my head into a wall over the MC, like a dog that gets kicked every day going back because at least they give it 1 bisket and some water every day or so.
