Jackrabbit wasn’t expecting things to get so complicated.
She’d joined Menagerie -- a group of art thieves who asked few questions and answered even fewer -- to get away from her monotonous life every now and then. It seemed like a good deal at the time, and she’d even grown to see her reticent accomplices as friends. Nothing beat the rush of a successful heist or the grounding realization of danger at every corner.
Now, things have gotten dangerous in a way that isn't quite as refreshing or comfortable, and Jackrabbit isn't sure where to turn. An unknown enemy has information on she and the rest of Menagerie, information that cannotpossiblybe made public, for obvious reasons, and they're dangling the team by a string to return it. Tensions are running high, and no one is sure of who they can trust anymore, and it appears that this shadowy adversary wants an answer that no one has.
Jackrabbit and her team must walk the narrow line of their foe's demands while they unravel the mystery of who would -- or evencould-- do something like this. Alongside this, secrets start coming out, and suddenly Jackrabbit is learning why she was selected for this life in the first place, and how she feels about this.

Breaking away from tired cliches, old jokes and the same boring plot, Menagerie is so much more than a heist story; it tells the story of a group of criminals with wildly differing personalities, just trying to work together and survive. The story isn't about the blackmail, burning or beaver nuggets (though it is about those things), it's about the characters and their struggles, their mistrust, their pasts and presents coming to light.
This story is gripping and intriguing, excelling at keeping you on your toes; but it doesn't rely solely on shock and awe, as it proceeds to throw whimsical and hilarious scenarios at the reader. The characters are interesting and well-written, the realistic elements are well-researched, and the story is of a creative caliber that I haven't gotten from a mainstream story yet.
The author is talented and meticulous; she may take a while to upload a new part but as soon as she does, it's well worth the wait. She genuinely cares about her audience and her story, and it definitely shows.
Join the characters on a global hunt/chase/crime spree as they engage in romance, fights, drama, and endless shenanigans as they start to discover just how deep and infected this wound of crime they live within truly is. - BanePalladinRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is a good read... it has great potential and i'm excited to see it continue... the storytelling is simply brilliant, story like these are not to common it also has a comedic feature to it so its entertaining to read.. i'll highly recommend this. Plus the characters are brilliant and they have some mystry with them with i find very interesting
