- kay_lastimaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’m absolutely obsessed with this series. Finished the three books and volume four within a week. Totally hooked by your writing, pacing, plot and of course, your characters. Each part of the storyline is so compelling and I never know where it’s gonna take me. I hope you continue writing more and belated congrats on publishing your novels!🫶🏽
- BobChouraRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I find myself pleasantly surprised at this story. I went into this thinking it would be a romantic fanfiction in a greek setting. Instead I am met with a prime example on how to write interesting characters. It would not be remiss to say that the characters carry this story. Sure, the setting is interesting, but it is not interesting enough to make you stay. Instead you will find yourself drawn to the colorful cast of this story, which in my mind perfectly reflects the feel of stories set in mythological greece. The feel of this story is also helped by the fact the author is quite obviously well read in the subject. If you are even a little bit intrigued by this story I implore you to read the first 5 chapters.
In terms of criticism, shifting perspectives is a common tool used to varying degrees of success. At best it emphasizes the strength of the character writing in the story. At worse there are parts where the perspective gets muddled. Nothing to the point of deal breaking, but it will be there nonetheless. The plot points are also a little bit bland, but when you read everything under the sun this is also not really a surprise anyways. - KikanoloRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This a heart-warming story driven by the interactions of its two well-developed main characters. It effectively and accurately weaves in many aspects of the relevant Greek mythology, while still telling an original story.
The writing style is easy to follow, there are no major grammar issues, and the world-building has been happening slowly but steadily.
My only concern is that recently chapter releases have become a bit more erratic, but the chapters are worth the wait.
I would strongly recommend this story, since it is well-written and has a lot of potential.
(as of Chapter 36) - LezShipHerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am loving this. It is written very well. I love how thought out each character is. It is a great blend of several myths. The slow burn between Medusa and Eugenia is to die for. Half the story so far I was like JUST KISS ALREADY, but it is so worth the wait.
- MichizureRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is driven by character interaction, as I believe any great story is. The two main characters feel well developed with distinct personalities and charming interactions with each other. The author goes on to expand the world by introducing side characters with their own backstories and motivations that make them feel like fleshed out characters that eventually drag the main characters into a much bigger world and story than the initial set up may suggest. For these reasons I give full points to character and story. As for style and grammar I have noticed nothing that distracts from the story being told, so full marks there as well. I feel that this story is highly underrated at the moment and is one of my favorite stories on RR. I urge anyone reading this to give it a try.
- MssRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Even though this story has comedy and slice of life tags, it is not just about a human and a monster living together and doing a random stuffs. Later in the story it will be lots of drama and seriousness that even made me tear up several times while reading. It is a beautiful and heart-warming story. The plot is great and you will find it even more enjoyable if you are into Greek mythology like me.
The best story on this site for me so far. - SaphyronRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall this is a romance story. We have the infamous Gorgon and a blind priestess of Athena. They go through life together, both the good and the bad. The love is there hidden behind half-truth and misdirections, but it is simply sweet.
This is by far one of the best novels on this site and I highly recommend it to everyone who wants a well-written romance novel. - Akhil SihraRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Is this story a total fiction or was there really a eugenia in Greece myths. Also people use the term Lamia for snake women, Was there really such a place? Are these connected?
- bananapudd1ngRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The characters caught my heart ❤️❤️❤️ I hope to see more of this series. It may start off as a lighthearted slice of life but as you go deeper the world is enriched with the interesting plot and dual-sided characters. Although I do have to say the pacing of the story can muddle the experience a bit but otherwise I love love this story !!! I’m not too good at writing reviews so I hope you can cut me some slack
- Spring Heeled JackRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I feel extremely conflicted with this story, it is technically well written and at times a complete joy to read. The main issue lies in the the actual scope and direction of the story, if you are mainly interested in the romance aspect of fiction, this story leaves quite a bit to be desired as a large portion of the second arc and all of the third (besides the final chapter) fails to really do much of anything on that front besides increase the word count.
Honestly you can entirely skip the enitre third arc (again, besides the final chapter) and you won't really have missed anything besides worldbuilding that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Like it is really well written, but it has nothing to do with Medusa/Eugenia. Calling it a filler arc is too harsh, but it gives off the same vibes as "Now that this is over, let us forget about it and never talk about it again"
If you are a fan of the slice of life feel and focus on the titular characters that the first volume has, you most likely will not enjoy the rest of the story. Later chapters very quickly expand the scope and muddy the focus of the story, and not for the better. It really is a shame too, the interactions between Eugenia and Medusa are amazingly fun, it's just that everything else in the story doesn't come close to matching up.
