Welcome to Mars Nexus, Book One: Marked

Marked is the story of what would really happen if we discovered ruins of an advanced civilization on Mars. It is the story of marketers, streaming services, tech moguls, and politicians clamoring to profit from the discovery. In the middle of it all is Elizabeth Asala Nasri, commander of the mission, who through a genetic twist of fate, can wear a Martian device that lets her see vignettes of the lost civilization. Her unique connection with the long dead Martians makes her a celebrity and an icon to the public and a threat to those who want to usurp Martian tech for their own gain.

The Mars Nexus Series

The planet Mars has such a presence in our histories, mythologies, and scientific curiosities that it is easy to imagine the two planets orbit each other rather than orbiting a common sun. This series tells the story of what could happen if the two planets actually converged their histories. At that nexus, all of the stories of humanity would meet the histories of the planet Mars—only the histories of Mars turn out to be quite different than we have imagined.
