Magus Reborn (Stubbed)

Description
Kai of the Sorcerer's Tower is one of the last mages left, barely surviving in a world ruled by creatures of the dark — where the era of mages ended, and most of the lands got contaminated with dead mana.
To save his world and fulfil his master's last wish, he put himself through a forbidden ritual, risking his soul being ripped into pieces to make his way into the past. In an era with abundant mana — an era yet to enter the Golden Era of Magic.
Things go wrong, of course, as they always do, and he finds himself thousands of years before the world fell to mana contamination — in the body of a young lord, Arzan.
All is not well, though, as the young lord was murdered by someone right at the cusp of a beast wave threatening the territory, while larger threats loom on the horizon.
There was a lot to do for Kai to regain his former strength in this time of primitive technology, but then again, he might just be able to change that.

- tyger44Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0At first I just liked the concept. The start was a little slow and there were a lot of fights in early on, this guy could not catch a break. Though it built a good groundwork for the kingdom building. Now it’s taking off and I’m struggling with the lack of chapters.
- Belen.loves.readingRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story that gets better and better, engaging and with good pace.
I am now a fan :) Even though I have already bought the first book and I m looking forward to purchasing the second, I couldn t help but write this short review as an additional way of showing the author my appreciation for allowing me to enjoy the story in advance in installments while it is being written, instead of having to wait. Thank you 🙌 - Wander NatamaruRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A mage in a crumbling era goes back in time to save the world? Count me in!
Style:
Like Extra's specialty, succinct and to the point. Every sentences comes along as intriguing, slowly reeling you in as the mystery of the world unveils. Description is enough for me to imagine the scene unfold. Worldbuilding is sprinkled in like a carrot on a stick, leading you to read more and more.
Grammar:
No glaring errors that I could pickup. A simple grammar checker would fix the minute mistakes, as per every web novel.
Story:
The premise is honestly the best part of the story for me. The idea of a mage being sent into the past to save his dying world—a world where he could breath fresh mana...well that's some post-apocalyptic time travel story for you, but with magic, or something similar to the Terminator series. But this ain't no Arnold.
Character:
Kai has been sent into the body of young lord Arzan, where he is definitely smarter than most individuals. While I haven't seen his character develop so far, it is motivating to see his thoughts and get glimpses of his personality.
Overall, do not sleep on this one. These authors are surely cooking up a storm! - [Harken]Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great and interesting story. From the very first page, I was completely drawn into the story and couldn’t put it down. The author has crafted a world so vivid and characters so real, it felt like I was living the story alongside them. The pacing is perfect, with just the right balance of action, emotion, and intrigue. Every chapter leaves you wanting more, and the twists are genuinely surprising. If you’re looking for a book that will keep you hooked from start to finish, this is it. Highly recommended!
- tossjpRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an amazing piece of writing. Well structured. Engaging. Good characters. The story is moving forward at a good pace.
Although the theme is known the delivery is smooth. Writing style is good. I find it very important that I am not distracted by the authors' struggle with language - editing is done very well, indeed. - BardfromvegaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.06 chapters in. I love regression stories. The characters and situations seem plausible and intriguing. I am really looking forward to how the plot developes.
Magic system looks was shown not judt info dumped that is always a plus. Character isn't op. I am hopeful progression here will be clear and sustained for some time to come. - KiriaruRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Excellent work with plot point setup, progression and story arc. Not a moment I think went too fast or too slow.
Some spelling or word choice issues, grammar and the like. Some edits definitely need to be done throughout the story so far.
I also wanted a bit of a deeper explanation on how the magic circles all worked and affected each other, but it has been kept kinda vague so far. Even with a very powerful start for our main character Kai, he still can't be confident in matching magic power with a person that's a circle ahead of him. The circles vastly change the amount of mana reserves and regeneration speed. I just want a formula so bad for some reason.
All of it was a thrilling and entertaining read. Thanks a lot! - VxentroniumRoyal Road★★★ 3.0This started off well in the first few chapters, but the writing started devolving. Grammar became worse and worse, and dialog was pretty bad. Worst aspect for me is the attention to detail - too many things don’t make sense, breaking immersion. Worst offender so far is the physics and maths around the heating stones.
- RedFox071Royal Road★★★ 2.5I enjoy the world the author is creating, and there is enough intrigue to keep me wanting to read, but every time I pick it up lately I can't get through more than one chapter. This story is in dire need of an editor. I'd like to rate it higher but something that makes me wince a couple times a chapter just doesn't work.
- mustachRoyal Road★★★ 2.5So the story is interesting if you like time travel, to a time before you were born.
The work could use a solid editor, not sure if English is a 2nd language or it's the vibe they are going for, but lots of colloquialisms and turns of phrase just come off wrong and made my brain judder to a halt as I tried to work out what was being written.
The MC is worried about his "travel" back in time and dosn't want to upset the history he knows... and then proceeds in may cases to do just that. I get it, but dont have the MC angst over what we know is going to happen, or (not in story) as he brings tanks to the middle ages kinda thing. The only way to avoid "contamination" would be to go live as a monk on a mountain somewhere and basically interact with as few people as possible.
