Magus Academy: Rune Instructor Reincarnation
Community Rating
Description
Archmage Arthur, former Instructor and Head of the Department of Runecraft, suddenly finds himself in the body of a new student of the Imperial Magus Academy.
Not only does he have the status of a commoner, but the owner of his body never received any proper education in Magia, creating a huge gap between him and the other students. Realizing that he has reincarnated a hundred years into the future, he must now navigate his new life as a student.
In an era where Spellcasting is regarded as the superior path for a Mage, Arthur—now called Dan Nilrem—walks a different path from everyone else.
He chooses the path of a Runecrafter, potentially shaking the foundation of the Academy.
"I’ll make sure to excel in this Magus Academy, no matter what!"

- God of LiesRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0An old man in the body of a boy entering a magic school - where he used to be a teacher? It's an intriguing premise that attracted me despite this not being my normal genre of choice. A few chapters in and world is well built and characters well defined, though the stakes have yet to emerge. The writer's style is snappy and easy to read, though I would prefer the grouping of lines into longer sentences to aid topicality and readability. As mentionned, magic schools aren't really my bag, and Harry Potter was probably the last such series I will read to completion (and I was somewhat disappointed even with that in the end), so I am probably not the best judge of this. But I can recognise craft when I see it, and this story has it in spades! Another slight confusion is the picture on the cover (beautifully rendered) appears to be female, but the MC is male. But perhaps he is just a particularly beautiful boy? Setting up expectations is half of the game though - so something to consider?
