Magic College

Description
Kazuma Wilson was a young man who'd grown up knowing only his father. Sequestered away from his deceased mother's family, he became practical and capable of making do with a less than opulent life. When it came time for him to graduate from high school and enter the wider world, however, his Aunt came to visit and offer him a place at a college—paid in full. Despite his father telling him little of his mother's family, Kaz took the opportunity his father couldn't afford to give him. The college, however, is far different than anything he could have imagined.
This is a fantasy story set in a modern world. A vampire organizes social events, a fey creature runs the local watering hole, and if you go fishing you might run into a garappa trying to catch his dinner. Kazuma is plunged into the deeper world he never knew existed, and though the tide might be fighting him, he learns to swim. Blending elements of magic and spiritualism from many pantheons (that all exist in this world), I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I do writing it.
This story will be published on a bi-monthly basis. Much is already written, but I intend to maintain a healthy buffer so there won't be any interruptions.

- IstyaturRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Overall, this is an excellent story and enjoyable to read, though its a slow build and the 'adventure' hasn't started yet so patience must be advised. I found no grammatical errors, and the prose was engaging and easy to follow. The characters are well written and distinct, consistent with themselves, and the character growth feels natural. The plot tends to slice of life of a mage just introduced to magic and his growing comfort with his magic, especially his transformation powers and what that means for his identity. But there is very little dedicated to learning magic, Its mostly been about developing relationships with only starting to set up the arcs hinted at by the mythos and adventure tags.
The major flaw for me is the setting seems to be very developed, and the MC being in school gives the perfect It leaves us unfortunately ignorant of magic, despite the main character getting a info dump from his familiar and the magical skills to go with it, not to mention the first year of schooling providing a excellent mechanism to give us some basic magic theory, so we know how strange the strange things that are happening are, and providing some foreshadowing for future weirdness that will undoubtedly show up. - DaijenaRoyal Road★★ 1.5The story is sort of a mess, the grammar and style are great.
But the actual story? The stories name is undeserved because most of the thinks don't happen there. It's almost completly skipped. The author seems to randomly change the focus of the story multiple times. First it had a focus to learn magic. Then it was suddenly skipped entirely in exchange for romance. Said romance was then also but asside to include an entire different focus with the protagonist dying multiple times to include gods. Currently the focus is Ragnarök and other godly bullshit wirh the protagonist constantly losing amd dying AGAIN. Honestly magic doesn't even feel revelant at this point. They keep saying he has such a great destiny when he only seems like a naive ant for the last 10 chapters. He had been manipulated 5 times in a row!!! If the way the author wrote wouldn't be so enjoyable I would hate this novel. I seriously hope they explore what is there and stop adding more broken contend to the story. Because even what we had at the very start wasn't even fully explored, making it feel disjointed.
Anyway I will look for something else to read for now, to angry to continue.
