Description

What if your nightmares didn't just haunt you... but hurt you?

For as long as Lucine Miller can remember, sleep has been a battlefield. Terrifying visions stalk her nights, and now they're leaving scars—real ones. But quitting isn't an option. Not when she's just won a coveted full scholarship to Liedman Academy, the world's most prestigious art school, and her one shot to escape her sister's shadow.

By day, Lucine fights to keep her grip on reality—and her place at the top of her class. By night, the monsters in her dreams grow hungrier, dragging her deeper into a twisted world where pain feels real and death feels permanent.

Then there's Alec. Dark, alluring, dangerous... and somehow tied to her nightmares. He says he knows who she really is—what she really is. He offers protection, but there’s one problem: in her dreams, he's the one trying to kill her.

As Lucine's waking and dreaming worlds collide, she must uncover the truth about her own power before sleep becomes a death sentence. Because some nightmares aren't meant to be escaped—they're meant to be faced.

Lucine: Nightmares of The Blood Moon Heiress is a gripping light novel that dances on the knife's edge between reality and a dreamscape where nothing—and no one—can be trusted.

Style: the style of writing definitely seems to follow the light novel genre since it's more conversational in nature. If one hasn't read light novels before, they may find the style of this not as text rich as conventional novels. Personally I enjoy this style of writing too, so it doesn't bother me.
Story: The premise so far is interesting enough, although not very new. I think the crux here will be how well you can continue to develop the nightmare world. I'm looking forward to reading more of the nightmare sequences. I'm also curious to find out if the protagonist ends up dying in every one.
Grammar: The use of tenses to differentiate reality and nightmare is interesting, although it may be a bit confusing to readers at first.
Characters: as it's pretty early in the story, (writing this after reading chp 3) the characters still have room to grow. However it's also precisely this reason that I think you're doing a good job! I can tell that you've taken time to develop backstories for your characters and that they are evolving as the story progresses. The character interactions are good. I'm especially enjoying the lighthearted conversations between the friends.
Overall: Keep up the writing! Good job on this being your first novel! Looking forward to more chapters and your growth as a writer!
