Description
To Enter Five Peaks Magical Academy you must have a familiar. Abigail hoped for a bird, maybe an owl like her best friend's, or a cuddly cat or loyal hound. She would have been happy with a particularly smart toad, even.
Instead she got you.

- Wandering AgentRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story of a lovely little outer thing is great, mixes in some of the ideas of cosmic horror in such a way as to be funny rather than terrifying, but keeps a lot of the same kind of feel. This is primarily a comedy and it keeps to that very well.
The characters feel real, and seem to have their own motivations. They aren't all hemmed in by what the main character is doing, and each feels like their own person. The main character herself seems to be completely oblivious to all of the things going on around her, but in doing so lets them all shine through ever better.
A few, very minor gripes
I find the second person perspective personally a bit disorienting, but that could just be me. It is consistant though, so it's not too weird. It sort of works for the main character's perspective though, since she's... her.
There are a few small grammar things here and there, but nothing too bad, and nothing that makes it unreadable, looks mostly like quotation marks that got in the wrong spot or autocorrected words that were just a bit of the wrong choice, perfectly normal for any book. - MecanimusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Oh, the joy when you, the unfathomable cosmic entity of the void, discover the pleasures of food, theft and cuddles.
the story addresses the reader as 'you' and that may bother some people. The tone of the story is light but the topics addressed are heavy. There is distinct Adams family kind of humor mixed with the fun part of the cosmic horror adjusting to steampunk society. It's a fun read and I recommend it. - BreakerMouseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Howard is rolling in his sleepy grave with envy that he didn't write anything this adorable.
Ravensdagger has the best patreon out there as well, tons of content and a great discord community. Join us there and support a great author!
I have no idea what to do with the rest of the required 50 words so here you go. - DivineCatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I was very put off with the style the story was written with at first, but the story surprised me with great storytelling and it kept me entertained the whole time I was reading it.
I highly recommend reading this. It was a great change of pace compared to most stories on royalroad. - feetareevilRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A story about the cutest smartest and bestes lovecraftian abomination to ever adopt a human! Just try it, it wont bite....probably!
- LittleCreepyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5It is only proper etiquette when a creature wraps you in its tentacles to wrap them back!
Give him your layers and layers of tentacular glory.
My teeth ache from all the cuteness. I didn´t even know that I needed a little azathoth Familiar-Sister in my life until now.
So I´m gonna go and get some of that food you get when finished with food. You mortals are genius! - David GilesRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I've only ever read one story in second person, and this is it. It's... surprisingly compelling and for its genre irreverently comedic.
Getting a cosmic horror as a familiar is the sort of thing you'd expect out of a particularly grim dark fantasy novel but it works surprisingly well in comedy. Dreamer is an eager to please protagonist who's infinite power is inhibited only by just how little she understands people, and her heavy handed and misinterpreted attempts to help are the primary driver of the plot.
The only issues I really have is the ending which reads as the author just... getting bored of their work quite frankly, but up until then it's great. - TooHardToReadRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5It's a really nice to read novel, not much going on on the big scale for now, but quite a bit of romance and comedy.
At first I was really sceptical about the readerinteractive part, but it is handled nicely (don't have any reference here) - BadGenuisRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Good slice of life novel. How can such Eldritch Abomination act even with its infinite lifespan is a mystery, but certainly cute and cuddly.
Though I like the adorableness, I'm not fan of Yuri and I see that the novel is not focus on magic. So, I wish for the Author's continued dedication but I'm only up till here. - ListouRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I pretty much binged the entire thing in a day or two, good character growth, interesting writing style (in a good way), quite fast paced but not overly so.
Overall, a good interesting story with some twists here and there in writing style and the way the MC (you) basically was controlled to some degree based on the reader's choice. Short chapters but pretty much no grammar mistakes as far as i could see.
Then comes the rushed ending. Plotpoints and character arcs finished in a single short chapter. It feels rushed, it looks rushed and it basically ruins a good fun story.
As the author writes in the chapter notes, he/she/it was getting tired of writing this, and would rather focus on one of the other novels he/she/it was/is writing. This is understandable, the stories here are provided for free from the authors, and they can choose what they want to do when they want to.
Regrettably this story suffered because of this. Atleast we got an ending to it, we could have been left in hiatus forever.
I can reccomend this story to others. It is a fun good read. But be warned that the ending feels rushed and can quite easily sour the entire journey for you. It literally comes out of nowhere.
Spent about a week thinking of what review to give. If the ending was given another 4-5 chapters to flesh out a good conclusion to the overall story this would have gotten a much higher rating from me.
