This story takes place in the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls universe (Owned by Hasbro), and includes a pony-version of Rainbow Dash as well (suitably transformed by the portal) and a little content in the Gen4 My Little Pony world.

I am not big into My Little Pony, but I know what it is. This whole humanized - clone version of Rainbow Dash - Rainy vs Rainbow - having been also humanized was a bit odd at first. The whole thing with Derpy having relationship issues and developing a rebound relationship here felt a little odd. The dialogue and attitude of the characters are their own thing, but from a purely relationship standpoint - that ending does come off as odd. The piece was well written though there were perspective issues in the beginning and the focus on the interactions being just a bit awkward. This was overall good.
