Amelia Lawrence thought she knew love when she fell for her boy-next-door best friend, Alexander (Dex) Larson. The summer after their college graduation, he moves away, leaving her crushed and wondering if she'll be able to move on without him. While he's off in California with his new job as a chef, Amelia has to get her mind off her best friend and into her new role as teacher.

Enter Braden, the essence of tall-dark-and-handsome, whom she meets at a local bar the night before her first day of teaching. They immediately hit it off which is great--until Braden shows up at the school where she's teaching to drop off his daughter, who is in her class. Amelia must find a balance between her work life and her personal life, but as feelings emerge, that proves to be harder than she could ever imagine
