Enter the Veil? [Yes/No]
Winston Beckett is a linguistic scholar, poring over musty manuscripts and ancient translations. That is, before he finds a book of magical runes. Before people start disappearing.
When he deciphers the strange book, Winston discovers a secret so big it throws him into a different world. Literally.
No more grading papers. No more research. No more work. Just him and The Veil, the eerily realistic game world he falls into.
Desperate to find his missing colleagues, Winston must navigate this strange new world, using only his wits to survive. Quests, skills, and loot await him…if he’s up to the task.
Along the way, he’ll need to fight enemies, recruit allies, and go on a journey of magic and adventure. And at the end? Well, let’s just say he won’t be the same person he started as.
Lost Archive is a LitRPG Adventure and first in the VeilWalkers series.

- gnarlytreemanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a great story. The story takes a nice twist near the end. The grammar, character, worldbuilding were enough but not too much. No boring infodumps.
I recommend reading it while you can, the time spent is worth it.
Also, having spoke over email a bit, the writer is a nice enough fellow, so you won't be supporting someone dislikable if you buy the book later. He even sent me a copy when i mentioned the royalroad upload was incomplete. Thanks to the discussion with him, i found out a trilogy was planned for the future. - prajit3Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5great read I liked the first few chapters a lot I read them around midnight and they are better than any horror movie.
while the later chapters lack the horror it more than makes up for it with the story.
a tip use the tables they will make it a lot better I want to give 5 star but due to a lack of tables in a lite RPG, I can give at most 4.5 overall and 4 for the style.
keep up the good work cant wait for next chapter. - DoktorPrimatRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I can't help but start out to say I'm anxiously waiting for the next book in the Veil Walker serie. Because this is the good stuff.
I truly enjoyed the spooky, horror-isque style at the beginning, that was wonderful! And how you integrated the Veil into the normal world, which really first showed at the end of the book, but still!
Your grammar is really good, and I'm left finding nearly no flaws of any kind at all. At most, a few strangely placed words that probably got doubled or some wizardry like that.
The story is super promising, at first I dreaded it to be another "boom, game setting now" but the fact you named the series for "Veil Walkers" helped allieve my fears. So great job! I think everything will turn up a noch in the next book so I'll be waiting~
I feel the characters could use more depth, they feel a bit stretched around the MC at the moment, and I hope you'll give them more personality and querks of their own. Kind of what you did with Fan, being a dwarf that loves the Sun, but maybe more pronounced. You'll have to figure that one out, somehow.
As for the style, then all I can say is that I enjoy your writing style so keep at it! Your descriptions are amazing as well, so more of that!

All Hail the Penguin Empire!
BANANA! - FilthyleacherRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The Mc doesn't have any reason for his actions once he gets into the veil, he's randomly transported into a new place and the first decision he has to do is choose a new race and instead of reading all the different race benifits like anyone whos ever played any rpg ever has he just chooses the first one because magic. He then goes and instead of asking any actual possibly important questions he decides hey im good enough to randomly come into this world. He then decides to fight racism he knows nothing about in a area he knows nothing about, which most people who are smart would realize it wont actually get him anything but inslaved at best. Here of course comes some magical girl who decides hey I will help this guy. This girl then realizes the MC is a noob which the Mc for some reason decides to say hes not when he quite obviously is. He could be using this woman to get information but instead pretends to be capable and then go into a dungeon without knowing literally anything. If the Mc was a idiot that might make a little sense but hes supposed to be some smart proffesor and most smart people wouldnt randomly follow a stranger to do something with their life at risk.
