Lomion System: Worlds Beyond This One Await [WORLD/BOOK 1 COMPLETE]
Community Rating
Description
Clay is a 22-year-old shut-in who suddenly finds himself transported to a world much like our own. There are enough similarities to get confused, but the biggest difference would have to be the zombie apocalypse.
Before the reality of his situation even has time to sink in, he is also confronted with a status window that tells him his objective (the standard gaming cliche: Survive) and its unknown time limit. It also makes a promise.
>Traveler verified!
>Worlds beyond this one await!
Not only will Clay have to adapt quickly to a world already knee-deep in decline if he wants to have any hope of reaching these other worlds, he'll also have to figure out how his own System actually works.
Why does his level cap at 10?
He can only have one Skill??
Perhaps those other worlds will be waiting forever...
What to expect:
+A Weak to Strong Loser MC+A System with stats, skills, achievements, and even a neat wheel+Equal focus put on power systems and characters+Slower burn than might be usual for this kind of story.+Chapters are AT LEAST 3,000 words. Some of them can get up to 4 or 5k.+Slower-paced progression that ensures the MC has to actually think to win+Mentally weak MC who is more of a follower than a leader (but who knows what could happen)+Worlds beyond this one await - even if takes a little while to get there+This isn't a story where the MC hops around willy-nilly. Each world is pretty much its own book. (There could be some shorter ones at some point. We'll see.)

- Amine Jr.Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Like the title says, this is a pretty good quality slowburn story. Maybe a little too slow for my tastes, but the other aspects of the story make that more bearable for me.
To address the other review here, yes, this story does go into a lot of detail about all sorts of small things and little thoughts. However, this level of detail does not mean nothing important is being said. Those details build up into something greater, and in my opinion are the reason every character in this story has felt truly alive.
To be fair, if this story doesn't click for you, it might never. But it very much clicked for me, and it has been nonstop enjoyment so far.
Now for some small notes to add.
The Psychological tag is deserved in my opinion, so don't think the author is being pretentious by throwing it in.
The "Perhaps those other worlds will be waiting forever..." line in the synopsis is important. The author spends a lot of time and effort one the first world so far, and it doesn't feel as if we're anywhere close to leaving as of CH 28. And these are decently chunky chapters. Still, the author promised more worlds later on, so if that speed is something you don't like, this may not be for you.
The MC very much has a loser mentality, and the litrpg system does not suddenly make them powerful and have them speedrun their way towards a more badass personality. However, I do not find this "loser MC" annoying like so many others. Despite checking the boxes for being a stereotypical isekai loser, Clay has an actual personality that is still interesting on some level beyond just being some guy with a system in another world. TLDR, if loser MC's aren't for you at all, you won't like Clay, but otherwise you may find him to be a better executed version of a familiar trope.
To cap it all off, I personally feel that this is an underrated gem, but maybe not one that everyone will enjoy. - MurkelRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I know it can be frustrating to get a lowered rating, but I think a higher one would actually be more unfair. Just like in the stories, XP requires success first, there's no point in gifting it. I feel that I already compromise quite heavily with the three stars.
This could be a great story. There is just one problem: The author describes way too much in too small details. Way way too much.
For example, many pages of status stuff descriptions, e.g. available skills, only one of them matters in the end. That might be more justifiable if the story hadn't just started. Other stories doing that do so when a break in the story and for the MC after lots of action and interesting things is okay.
Speaking of status screens, there is no need to repeat the entire status after only a few pages and nothing or just a single tiny thing has changed!
I know the story descriptions says
> Slower-paced progression that ensures the MC has to actually think to win
but this is not an excuse for using an inappropriate far too detailed style. The story tries to describe every single thing, including meta stuff and internal thoughts, of what one might see in a movie, every second of it. But in a written story you need to find fewer more powerful words that show the gist of what you want to show without having to read two pages of small stuff.
I quickly started skipping entire pages, and we are still in the same tiny not very interesting scene. You can do that a few times for key scenes, but not all the time, for everything!
It was a frustrating read not just because of those problems, it was made much worse because this story could actually be great! If it was just bad, I would not even bother to write anything, maybe not even vote, just click "Not Interested" (for myself) and leave. Getting sooo close to finding something nice is what makes it worse.
