Overall, the author is able to create a living, breathing world that enthralls the reader. Different countries have unique cultures and languages that contribute to the immersion. The author's use of language and grammar is well done with very few mistakes. They have also shown an propensity to review their work and take feedback in trying to rework and improve their story.
The story is extremely well done with clear progression in events and with Jack as a standout character in character development. The author is also great creating believable obstacles and does not rely on plot armor to get make sure that the protagonist survives every encounter. The struggles that Jack goes through feel real and he genuinely grows stronger because of them. The author also does a good job portraying how trauma affects various characters and how it strengthens them.
The unique characters are also where the story shines. The author carefully considers the characters they write, their motivations, actions, and backgrounds. Characters are carefully planned out and their interactions feel organic and not contrived. Some standout characters include Jack and Sahaqiel. Jack in particular feels like he matures as he experiences the events through the story. He starts as a young, impressionable youth, and by the time of this review, he feels like he has grown into a young man who has been given a lot of responsibility. Sahaqiel on the other started as a relatively light-hearted angel with a tragic background who happened to make a deal with Jack. As of this review, she has grown into an extremely caring and helpful guide with a interactions with other characters beyond Jack.
Overall, this is easily one of the best stories that I have read on Royal Road.

Awakening the Angel System is a LitRPG, but not in the standard adventurers’ magic & medieval world settings. It has cyborgs and mecha, but didn’t go into sci-fi. It’s today’s world if demon-like creature attacked and angels are thousand year old entities with godlike power.
The world building is top-notch. You get a sense that the world is vast, not just some generic kingdoms here and there, but competing nations with their differences, goals, and ambitions.
The style improved as the chapter progressed. No messy info dumps. Pacing is good, a bit slow in chapter 3 to 6. It can benefit greatly from skipping some scenes out, but everything is in place. Maybe an edit, polish, or rewrite in the first few chapters is needed, but nothing major. It reads easily, and that’s what’s matter.
The story has a captivating ability. You just jump in and keep reading to find out. And boy, the story continues to grow as it reached chapter 9 and so. Its strength also comes from the extra casts that’s adds depth and anchored the character to his world.
As the story progressed, I’m seeing political intrigues, warfare, nation building, and mechs, so there’s a ton to look for. Will keep reading this.
Lastly, no issue on the grammar, it’s neat and presentable.

So I'm a cyberpunk fan through and through. Finding out this story had those elements along with a few others? Definitely had me curious enough to keep reading.
I wouldn't consider myself an expert in the genre to be able to speak to whether this hits all the tropes or not. But it's an enjoyable read so far. That I haven't found anything off-putting enough to detract me from continuing is a plus. Quite the opposite, really. If anything, Time is my greatest enemy to continue reading it, as I still want to make sure I meet my own obligations to my work, while still being able to continue reading. Kinda having a moment from the Twilight Zone episode, Time enough to Read, where I'm Henry Bemis wishing I had more time. Thankfully, no apocalyptic end of the world accidents have occurred to provide me more time. I'm good there.
A bad thing for real life, it sounds like it could help the world in which Awakening takes place. There are some interesting things going on with the MC and some supernatural elements that I can definitely dig. I like what I've seen of it so far and plan to keep going.
If you're on the fence, or unsure about whether you might like this, I'd definitely suggest giving the first five chapters a solid chance first before making a final decision. It shaping up to fit nicely within my wheel house of tastes, and hopefully it does so for you too.

I like it, the Angel is a bit annoying at the start, but eventually gets better. Defintely worth reading through. the Litrpg is kinda, eh? I mean its there just slow to flush out I guess, and doesnt really show up fully till
    Academy ARC and War stuff
There was also the whole nest guardian thing and killing it but apparently it was just a newborne but nobody knows that, which I like cuz there are different perpsectives and things arent so black and white leaving alot for open interpretation
The characters are cool, though could use some work. I think the weakest bit is the MC as hes a bit of a blank slate that lives for his little sister and the Angel was DEFINETLY annoying, but knowing her history n jank couple with talking with the author made her more likeable to me especially when its discovered
she's keeping another soul hidden and is directly influenced by the MC and the soul
. I made an account to rate tho I normally read around. I talked to the author on discord who was very upfront about stuff and his reasons for the angel's behavior, a bit too upfront cuz HE ENDED UP SPOILING STUFF FOR ME, turning me into an unwilling beta reader but I'm excited to see where it goes.  Luckily i got in before he started a patreon lol. So free extra chapters yaaaay.
Author makes alot of grammer mistakes lol

    Awesome,
I like the story, it has a lot of potential, so keep it up 👍👍 it's good work.
I love the bickering between the two MC's
The Story has a lot of humor, it is Serious in other Parts and there is also scheming, what else is there as a Basis of a good story.
The Style is good, one can easily read the Story
The story is awesome, there is a depth, it could be more, but it is good enough for me so 4.5
Grammar, since English is my second Language, i do not really care for Grammar, as long as I can easily read it and it makes sense to me, it is worth the score 👍👍
The Character i give 3.5 stars, in hope to see more from the views of other characters. I am a simple man, if the MC does something worthy, i like to see the reaction from other characters view point,
( i was soooo disappointed when I saw the finale of Naruto, the epic fight between Naruto and Sasuke, it was a landscaping fight, but there was no real viewpoint from the other characters, no comment no nothing, something like that makes me un-whole.)
In short, keep the work up, evolve your style make it more complex, but if you struggle, keep it simple. As is, i like the Story and how it develops, i would like to see it more complex, but I will continue reading it regardless 😄

Awakening the Angel System is an awesome, fast-paced adventure filled with fun moments as well as some surprisngly dark themes happening in the background. Overall, I really have enjoyed reading the story of Jack (and his adorable little sister Jill) and I love the character art that the author incorporates into hs chapters.
Style: The author rights tight scenes that punch the reader with action. There's not too much time spent on describing things and the focus is more on the characters themselves. I will say that there are some instances, especially in the first few chapters, of telling rather than showing but outside of that it's really well written.
Grammar: No major mistakes and very easy to read. There are a few missing commas that jump out at me, but honestly who really cares about that kind of stuff. That's for English teachers to worry about.
Story: The story, as earlier mentioned, is very fast-paced and rife with action. It sucks you along and is very hard to put down. I really enjoyed how the author's world is clearly incredibly large and even after ten or so chapters you haven't even begun to scratch the surface of it all. Very well done story.
Character: I really like the protagonist, Jack. He isn't an idiot but he also isn't some kind of know-it-all genius. He's just a normal kid (normal for the crazy world he lives in) that happens to get dragged along into a massive mess by a certain very intrusive woman. Every side character that we've met so far has been a lot of fun and I really enjoy Jack's interactions with them all, especially his overprotective adoptive father Mike. Everything is clearly well thought out and not at all shallow.(Also the spanish is well done for that one taco guy so I appreciate that too)
In conclusion, read the book. Now.
    Or else.

I went into the story with a determination to get through ten chapters to have something to gauge for a decent review. I found I had to muster far more determination to STOP to do the review after those ten chapters!
This story has a rather fast-paced way of describing the world and its characters. The details aren't so much mentioned to build the world as they are mentioned in passing so the author can finish cramming as much content into each paragraph. I won't say that it lacks definition just that it passes by too quickly for you to tell if you missed it.
The world portrayed is as grim as any other post-apocalyptic variant but it is used to introduce a new element into the setting. What might happen if magic came back in the middle of us patting ourselves on the back for all of our technological achievements? This is certainly one of the possibilities!
The story follows a pretty well-defined main character with a vague desire for more in his future. His description sounds very realistic to the point that it makes me believe the author has experience with this form of melancholy. The other characters each receive roughly as much handling of backstory and motivation as they require for their level of participation in the story as a whole. The only exception to this being an enigmatic existence that I have a feeling will see a lot more exploration as the story progresses.
If I haven't mentioned this yet, let me just state plainly, this story is worth reading if you are a fan of this anime genre.

This review is based on the first twenty chapters.
I read through the first twenty chapters and had quite a blast with it. The story starts with the dutiful young man coming into contact with the person who escaped from the laboratory and gaining new powers as a result of their encounter.
The world itself is cruel, but at the same time, the MC is written in such a way that you can't help but root for him and the secondary characters. The MC is brutal and ruthless, if the foes step to him, chances are they are not leaving in one piece. Despite all of this, he feels alive and not edgy. The questions that he asks upon receiving the magic powers and the actions that he takes feel logical and in line with what a young man like him would do in this situation.
The worldbuilding is extensive but never opressing. Each chapter gives just enough for you to paint the world around the MC without bogging you down with details. Some important things are mentioned, but explained properly only when they come later in the story.
The supporting cast is good. From the very anime-like "Angel", who acts as a teacher and a mentor figure of sorts for the MC, to his foster father and sister. Each of them has their own character, someone is lively, others may have hidden dark depths that can make you worry, yet all of them try to survive and stay decent people in spite of the circumstances.
Action is good. Not only are we shown the fight itself, but the author manages to show the emotions of both sides when the situation comes to blows.
There are grammar mistakes here and there, but the whole story is written in such an interesting way that these mistakes go really well with the flow, like you are watching anime in technopunk style, which is great. The story is easy to read, which is a major plus in my book.
Overall, I would rank the story four and a half stars. If you like some dark, yet hopeful stories mixed with a very good LitRPG system, go no further. And if you are looking for somethin

So far, the actions are flawless. Plenty of characters, many developments. Progression of MC is quite nice and smooth. Point of views are mostly on MC with a smattering of others'.
Freebies of characters' images are also really nice.
Started off with a bang, continuous actions, lots of dramas, plenty of characters' interactions to make the story quite seamless.
The stats are abit bulky, especially the skills. Could have been set below character sheet or another table just for skills. I can imagine the headache to port the status screen towards ebook or print book.
Ending of Season 1 is not that great, not much of a cliffhanger, only a promise of alot pain for MC at the start of Season 2.
I can see that this story to be a lot captivating in the future, though the character building needed more polish or more focus.
Overall, this is a great story, I doubt there will be many detractors( although some will bash this story because of minor trivialities)
4.5 stars awarded. Half a star taken because of the skills table.
    Cheers.

This story is a fun surprise. It's easy to dive into and read in short bursts. While the material itself is kind of heavy, it is handled in a way that's entertaining and engaging.
I do think things have a tendency to happen too quickly in the story. Lots of story fodder glossed over very quickly, and as a result some of the impact is lost. Still, a good time!
