Description
Paul is an average guy who wanted to make new friends. An invitation to play a tabletop game at a local board game shop quickly turns into an adventure that is all too real. The members of this group aren't just dressed up as elves, mages, and warriors: they're the real deal. Now Paul has no choice but to journey with them if he wants to get home.
My original response to the following writing prompt on Reddit:
Bored out of your skull, you decide to join your local tabletop LARPing group. What you don't realize is that all the members aren't roleplaying and they really are what they say they are (Adventurers, vampires, werewolves etc.)

- Mech_WizardRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I really like how this story begins. It all stems from the fact that this one guy wanted to make new friends on a free night, and of course, the fact that there was a cute girl involved had nothing to do with it.
The beginning is amusing and refreshing, though the story doesn't have much more twists than that. However, while it isn't anything groundbreaking, it is still nice for what it is; another contemporary fantasy story. I think it counts as transported to another world, too, though it doesn't share the same feeling.
And the grammar and spelling was almost spotless. Maybe the grammar could have flowed a little better, and there was a misspelled word here and there, but for the most part it is hard to notice unless you look for it. That is definitively a big plus for me.
If the author decides to work further on this, I would be interested in reading more.
